Shaking like crazy

I have a brand new GE front load washer and the first time we put it to work it started shaking and viberating like it was possessed. It literally vibrated 3ft outside the laundry room.

I have the same problem with my front loader GE washer and GE will NOT stand behind it. The serviceman made it clear that he knows there is a design problem but he has to report that it is operating as designed. My advice is take it back if you can. My builder said it would damage my home. GE said I should have put my laundry room in my basement!

I have the same problem. The wierd thing is it only occurs when I wash the bathrobes. I had a GE tech come in and tell me that the problem was occuring because it wasn't balanced. The next day when I did a load of wash the same thing happened again. I had another tech come in a few weeks later and he looked at it and ordered me a new tub and a bunch of other parts that they are installing this coming Friday. I will keep you all updated if this fixes my problem.

Shaking, Have had repair men out balance is ok. Still shakes the whole house! Sheared floor underneath washer for better support. Helped but still shakes. Need a solution before it damages other items in my laundry room and home. I have the drawer that sits underneath it .

For the new machine that is violently shaking, make sure the shipping bolts in back are removed and their plastic pins.
For a machine that has developed this problem, it may be the shocks under the tub. these can wear out. but check level and balance first.
When it is on the pedestals the rubber shims are not supposed to be there, they are for dryer only.

Can a front load washer be stacked on top of a front load dryer?

Normally, the front loading machines come with a special stacking kit (that may be available separately). Now I wonder why one would put the washer on top! Most of the time the washer is put at the bottom making it easier for plumbing. Secondly, in case of a large spill, it would be safer to have the dryer on top due to the power required for the heating elements. I would therefore not recommend putting the washer on top even if that might be possible to do so...

Washing machine is really loud when spinning (sounds like a plane taking off)and if you are sitting on couch one floor down you can feel the couch vibrate and the floor its on shakes like crazy. I was told...

no it is not normal and there so be no reasonable excuse for bad vibrations and shaking on a new machine ,if the setting up instructions and leveling procedures were carried out.
at six months it should be still under warranty so have it fixed under the warranty

GE Front Load washer shakes whenever any type of load is put in. GE service has been out at least 4 times and say that its fine..perfectly level, etc

All front loaders shake to some extent. It depends on the balance of the load. It is especially evident in the spin cycle due to the high speeds. Also these machines are best placed on a solid cement floor. They can shake an entire house if on the first or second floor and the floors are not well reinforced.

Washer machine is shaking terrible during the high speed spin

Alot of times with front loader machines they will shake at high speed even if the machine is level. The floor may not sturdy enough. You can put a piece of 3/4" plywood or something like that under you machine. I know putting plywood under your machine is not the best looking thing, but it should help the shaking. The product just needs to to sturdy.

Shaking uncontrollably during spin

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

IF THIS IS A BRAND NEW INSTALLATION - be sure you have removed the basket shipping pins (4) that secure the tub during shipping.

Washer shakes, as if out of balance, after all water is drained

Biggest problem i get on the front load machines are spinning and draining problems. First thing to check is make sure your soap is not foaming up. If you see alot of suds in the machine when it is washing switch brands h.e. soap is best but he liquid tide has been a big problem with suds. Next make sure you put equal size items don't mix heavy and light items in machine as this may have off balance issues! Next check the coin and pintrap if it has one some machines have filters on the front of the machine that need cleaning. After these have been checked see if the machine has any unusual noises or odors when used rubber burning odor or electrical odor when in use may indicate a overloading or internal problem with the machine.
