First, remove the recoil assembly but dont disassemble!
You'll need about 3 1/2 ft. of the same size rope. Tie a knot into one end of the rope. While holding the pulley in place observe the direction the pulley moves when rope is pulled. Release pulley and cut and remove old rope. Continue winding pulley in direction rope would pull it. Do no wind too tight. Line up holes in recoil housing and pulley then push rope through pulley and out housing. Tie on handle and install recall in reverse order.

You can find a diagram for your mower here. You should be able to remove the top cover, then loosen the tensioner pulley and pull the belt right off. Put your new belt on following the original belt path. You can find a replacement belt at PartsBuggy.com here.
