Clean the main PBA with isopropyle alcohol and warm up with hot air after dry. Try to update firmware and If it was not solved replace the main PBA.
The 52 error in most HP printers is not reversible, you must replace the scanner if the is cost worthy.Might want to unplug printer from the power source for 30 minutes and retry, before changing the scanner unit.
First see the scaner moving or not just power on the printer & see the movement if it stucks then problem with scaner this printer should be under warrenty pl call the service engr from hp /change the flatbed scaner.ur problem may be resolved.
