Open the boot/trunk lid and drivers door. Switch on the ignition to position II but do not start the engine. Wait for the dash lights to extinguish. within 5 seconds of the lights going out, Rock the valet switch, in the centre console, 5 times. The system will chirp to indicate it has entered learning mode.

On models with seat/mirror/steering wheel memory functions, the first key-ring transmitter will be linked to memory 1, second to memory 2 etc

Press and hold the larger, lock, button on the key-ring transmitter whilst watching the Red LED and ether wait for it to stop flashing or for the system to chirp a confirmation it has got the signal. If the system doesn't receive any signals for 15 seconds, it will chirp twice and exit learn mode

To program further key-ring transmitters, rock the valet switch once. The system will chirp twice for remote number two, three times for number three etc, then press the lock button of the key-ring transmitter as above

When finish, wait 15 seconds for the system to time out and chirp twice, turn off the ignition, close the doors and boot lid.

SOURCE: no dial tone on hand set battery is new lights up

Make sure your connection to the phone jack is secure.
Use another wired phone to make sure connection is good to your phone.
Secure connection in back of phone, and plug it in. The base MUST have power to transmit the signal to the handset even if the handset has a fresh charge.
Although the handset is normally linked to the bases, check to make sure via the instructions. To determine if the base recognizes the handset, press the "LOCATE HANDSET" button.
If the hadset responds, the links is there.

Hope this helps
good luck and don't forget to vote!!!

You need to register the handset to your base to get the phone to work to do this follow the steps in the manual. If you do not have the manual go to the link below and scroll down to product detail then click on the blue product manual.

Service manual novotronic w 833

Mine did it and it was the water heater relay which had ‘welded’ it’s contacts. I cleaned them up and away it went. Some years later the relay then occasionally stopped working so I replaced it with a second hand spare and machine continues to run well.

Remove and replace alternator

Hello,

Just follow these steps to remove and replace the alternator. You will need this tools, Serpentine belt tool, Battery wrench, Lug wrench, Floor jack, Jack stand, Socket set,

  1. Open the hood, locate the serpentine belt tensioner and move the tensioner off the
serpentine belt with the serpentine belt tool. Slip the belt off the tensioner
pulley with your other hand and then slowly move the tensioner back to its normal
position. You can pinpoint the location of the belt tensioner by following the belt
routing diagram, printed on the fan shroud.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery with the battery wrench.
Push the cable end away from the battery so it doesn't make contact during the
    repair.
  3. Turn the lug nuts on the right-front wheel counterclockwise until they're loose
enough for hand removal, but leave them on for now.
  4. Lift the right-front end with the floor jack and support it on a jack stand placed
underneath the right-front frame. Remove the lug nuts and right-front wheel by hand
    and set them aside.
  5. Slip the serpentine belt off the alternator pulley by hand. You can access the
alternator through the wheel well. Unplug the wiring harness from the alternator
by hand and remove the ground strap with your socket set.
  6. Remove the alternator mounting bolts with your socket set. Lift the alternator out
of the engine well, through the wheel well. Insert the new alternator in reverse of
how you removed the old one.
  7. Thread the alternator mounting bolt through the new alternator and into the
alternator bracket by hand. Tighten the bolts with your socket set.
  8. Attach the alternator ground strap with your socket set. Plug the alternator
    wiring harness in by hand.
  9. Slip the serpentine belt over the new alternator pulley. Reinstall the wheel and
lug nuts by hand. Lower the Taurus of the jack stand with the floor jack.
  10. Move the belt tensioner aside again and place the belt on the tensioner pulley with
your free hand. Hold the belt on the pulley and slowly move the tensioner back to
its normal position. Reconnect the negative battery cable to the battery.
Hope this helps you.
Take care and good luck

I have a quartz president wall clock, I changed the battery and set the time OK but the chime needs setting and I have no instructions as it is a very old clock

These are general quartz wall clock instructions as I dont know enough about what type/style of clock you have.
  • Open the access door to the dial and hands of the clock if required. Some battery-operated clock movements are sealed inside the clock case with a back panel that is screwed in place. To gain access to the hand set knob, remove the back panel screws using the appropriate tipped screwdriver.
  • Turn the minute hand (or turn the hand set knob at the rear of the movement if access is available) carefully counterclockwise or clockwise until the correct time is reached. Keep in mind that using the hand set from the rear would require turning the knob in a clockwise direction in order for the hands to turn counterclockwise.
  • Move the hour hand carefully with your fingers near the center of the hand to the hour that the clock is striking if the striking chime is not counting the correct hour. The hour hand is a friction fit hand and will move without engaging the minute hand.
  • Replace the back panel and tighten the screws with the screwdriver if removal of the back panel was necessary to access the hand set knob.
  • Close the front access door if required.

Cordless phone red light blinking no dail tone all of this happened after a breif power outage today

You have not mentioned the model but it is for sure that your phone inter communication has failed. Hence the base and the hand set is not locking on. Remove off all the leads and clean the base terminal charging points. open the hand set and reset the battery, dry off any residue of water moisture on the front panel of the hand set. now connect back and lock it in to see if the set latches. If not check if the power outage had caused a failure in the base unit DC input. check the area for +5 volt to processor , optocoupler and sub circuits. also checck the battery of your hand set for low voltage as it would have gone below the threshold level of charging. Test the voltage, if not replace the battery and set . it must work then. Helpful? Good day

My miele novotronic W 1918 has a bad smell. Is there a filter that i should clean? Can't find it.

There is a fluff filter in the bottom left hand corner behind the flap. have a small tray, like a baking tray underneath it and open the flap with a flat lever or the miele yellow key. Turn the tap about 1/4 of a turn and collect about a litre of water from the unit. when it has stopped draining unscrew the tap all the way out and clean the fluff filter which is the tap in your hand. also have a look in the hole and you will see the drain pump. make sure this is free of any foreign particles and then re-screw the tap back making sure it is tight.
To avoid the smell in the unit run the machine on a few 95c washes. you can use a cleaner or just white vinegar as a cleaning agent. after every wash keep the door open for about 30 mins to let it dry out as shutting the door is then a perfect enviroment for bacteria to develop and the smell.

Also check the door seal for any foreign particles every wash.

    Hope this helps.

Can't remove the cover to replace battery

Hold the phone face down and lengthways in your left hand with the top of the phone at the first set of knuckles (near your finget tips). Then take your right hand and place the base of your palm on the battery cover. Now gradually start to apply pressure with your right hand in a downward and forward direction simultaneously. Wrap the fingers of your right hand over the fingers of your left hand and pull for more control.
And there you go, bobs your auntie.
