Try replacing first the capacitor. If it will not solve your problem, check the integrity of the motor winding insulation by doing a line to body resistance measurement. If it is okay, replace the motor bearings.

mmmmm....is the unit heating? sounds like maybe the heater is causing the GFCI to trip or could be the motor going bad.

Check the voltage at the pump while its running. If the electric feed line is too long for the guage wire,
voltage drop will cause the motor to overheat and switch off.

You can use PVC pipe indoors where your water enters the house.

Guessing the capacitor is probably bad. It sounds like the run capacitor. The motor overheats and the thermal protection circuit shuts it off.
