Frigidaire Humidifier won't drain out hose after one year. Water goes to bucket.

For the hose to work the unit must be elevated somehow so that the bucket will not fill. Or somehow the unit must be higher than the end of the hose. If you put the hose down an open floor drain that should suffice.

It sounds like your dehumidifier needs to be professionally cleaned. What could be causing the problem is a buildup on the inside of your dehumidifier where the water drains out and it is causing the water to not drain properly. Additionally, I would check to verify that the drain hole is tightly secured with the plug. I know you stated that the bucket is not leaking but have you removed it to verify? I understand that your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD704DWD, is putting the water that it collects out onto the floor as oppose to the bucket. I suggest contacting the manufacturer for more information. They should be able to point you in the right direction for assistance. Hope this is helpful.

My humidifier has a knockout inside the hose connection, that you have to remove. simple but check it out.

Look at the drain pan, it might have a garden hose connection that you might have to knock out, mine is not the same model but it may be similiar, and then run it to a floor drain or such. Good Luck

The clog is not in the hose. It's in the hose connection tube inside the unit. To unclog it use an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar that is flexible and will fit into the hole. NO wire coat hangers though. Gingerly work it into the hose connection hose, until you reach a bend in the tubing. This is the tricky part, as you have to get past this bend. Be careful and work it past the bend. Once the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of Zip Tie, slowly pull it back out while rotating it. This will dislodge the clog. Once the Tie is almost all the way out, be prepared for water to follow.

One other thing. If the unit stops operating check that the bucket full light is illuminated. If it is remove the bucket and empty the contents and then check the seal between the hose and the drip tray. If there is a small leak then replace the hose gasket and re-tighten the hose.

FYI - Your humidifier does not have a pump. It relies entirely on gravity to drain, when you use the hose connection.

That should solve the problem.

Based upon my experience with the same problem on my Kenmore 54701 last summer: The condensate water collects in a plastic pan below the coils. This pan has a single drain hole where the water flows down into the bucket. When I suddenly found water puddling on the floor instead of in the bucket, I opened up the unit, and I found that the collection pan's drain hole had become blocked by "bioslime". I cleaned out the goo from the drain hole, and the problem was solved.

Has anyone figured out how to get a 25-pint Frigidaire dehumidifier (model FDD25S1) to put water out the drain hose for continuous draining instead of into the bucket? It appears to be impossible to connect the hose in a way to avoid water leaking into the bucket.

I bought one of the FDL70S1 Frigidaire dehumidifiers today for my shop, and found that the $5 hose I bought to drain it through the floor wouldn't tighten down completely, allowing the hose to twist and wobble, a sure indication that it was not water tight. Simply adding a second washer, as described in another answer here, allowed me to tighten the hose sufficiently to produce a tight fit with no play between the hose and the dehumidifier. It hasn't leaked. I know it is a threads-per-inch issue, and I am stumped as to why Frigidaire would supply these units with a different thread pitch than the standard GHT (garden hose thread) 3/4" - 11.5 tpi. The threads on the unit appear to be 3/4 NPS - 14 tpi. Go figure!
