I have a life fitness 9500HR treadmill...it stops after random time and it says communication time out. I've done the comm test and I don't seem to be getting any info as anything wrong.

i recommend to replace the control board. This is very critical matter for the electronic machine. see the diagram attached, How the controller motor hast the 80 of control of machine. go to www.fitnessrepairparts.com and get it
I own a gym and have 5 9500's...unfortunately it sounds like it the motor controller board which is around $800. National gym supply or sprotsmith has the part.
You need to press and hold Pause,press clear twice. Continue to hold pause until the display reads SERVICE MENU. Press any up arrow and select SYSTEM TEST. then press enter in the desired mode,then the display will scroll automatically though available options. You want the first option which is SYSTEM COMM TEST hit enter upon do so it will perform test to communicate with all module within the treadmill. If a module does not respond to the upper console the a error message will display.
