Usually if your getting this message through your security software, it usually indicates that your using a default name on your wireless router.

If this pertains to something else, re-ask your question giving all details, such what's giving you this message and what equipment you have connected.

I think what she meant is that this domain - fixya.com - gets flagged as insecure/ having an invalid certificate by chrome. And from what I see now, this continues to be the case almost a year later

Cant connect to Wifi

To connect to secure wifi you need the password for the wifi router you are trying to connect to. You cannot just connect to a secure network unless you have that password - the owner of the router will have the password.

A secured WiFi connection has been setup to prevent unauthorized access. To connect to a secured WiFi connection you need to get permission from the person that has this secured WiFi connection and get them to give you the encryption key (password).

I dont know how to set up the nintendo wi-fi connection

  1. At the Setup screen, tap "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings."

  2. Tap "Connection 1 None."
emptyconnections.jpg (Don't see "None" for Connection 1? To ensure any existing settings don't interfere with getting connected, tap the button, then choose "Clear Settings.")
  3. Click on "Search for an Access Point."

  4. The Nintendo DS will search for any wireless networks within range. Once it is finished searching, it will display the names of all the wireless networks it finds.

Once you have done this you may find next to your wi-fi, a lock this is what they mean:

  1. Tap on your network name to select it.

  1. Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes." The Nintendo DS will run a connection test with your wireless router.
  • The connection test was successful - Your Nintendo DS is now connected online and you can enjoy the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection features of the game!
  • The connection test was not successful - If the test was not successful, you will receive an error code.
    • Error Code 51300: This means the security code or network name entered into the Nintendo DS is not the same one the router is set to. To reach your connection settings, click "back" on the error code screen. Make sure to pay extra attention to the security key you find in your router's settings and enter it exactly as it appears (the key is case sensitive).
    • All other error codes: Try our error code lookup where we have detailed information on many common error codes.

The Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite are not compatible with WPA security. If you would still like to connect your Nintendo DS online, you will need to either change your router's security to WEP, or disable security entirely. Please note that any changes you make will affect other devices that connect wirelessly to your router.

We have a Zyair B-3000 wireless network. With our older Notebooks (XP or Vista) the wireless communication is no problem but with newer computers I can't establish a wireless connection (e.g. HP Pavilion...

To trace the problem, I would first temporarily turn off security on the ZyAir B-3000 and see if you can connect with the iPad and the HP.

To do this login to the ZyAir. If you still have it set to factory settings you would login by clicking here: http://192.168.1.2 then type the password which is 1234. The find the wireless security screen and turn off WEP security. By the way, If you still have factory password, I would change that soon.

Here is the users manual with more details: ftp://ftp.zyxel.com/B-3000/user_guide/B-3000_3.50.pdf

After turning off all security, try and connect from the two systems that cannot connect. If you can then the problem most likely has something to do with wireless security. Now with the security still off try and connect with the other 2. If all 4 can connect without security turned on it is probably a wireless security issue. You could try changing from WEP to WPA security and see if all 4 can connect. You do not want to run your wireless router without security so make sure you turn the security back on..

I say most likely it is security, because maybe there are some settings that might be blocking the iPad and HP from connecting. Maybe the router is set to only allow two connections, or is set to allow specifc MAC addresses of the two older computers. Look around the configuration firmware in the ZyAir and see if there are any settings that would limit how many can connect wirelessly, or limit specific systems to specific MAC addresses.

After spending too much time on this and it still doesn't work, then you might consider doing a factory reset. Beware that a factory reset will wipe out all the configuration on the ZyAir and you will have to reconfigure. Instructions to factory reset are in the users manual link above, but basically you hold the side RESET button for 10 seconds, it will restart and you don't touch it till it is done resetting. If you do decide to do the factory reset, then right after resetting and before setting up security on the ZyAir I would try and connect all 4 systems at once. If that works then configure the ZyAir with security.
