hi kathy. this is an easy one. first of all you will need a spark plug gapping tool, about a dollar at any auto parts store. Your chain saw most likely calls for PLUG TYPE: Champion CJ6 SPARK PLUG GAP: 0.025 in. (0.63 mm).

SOURCE: homelite ut08107 will not fire. no spark at plug.
It may be the coil if there is not any spark. Or a wire could off at the coil. One more thing it could be is the spark plug wire may have came loose from the coil. These a few thing to check.

What plug are you currently using?
if its a DJ7Y gap at 0.025 tapered seat
if its a DJ7J gap at 0.030 tapered seat
if its a CJ8 gap at 0.025 gasket
if its aCJ6Y gap at0.030 gasket
if its a CJ6 gap at 0.030 gasket
these are champion plugs
if you have different cross reference your make
