I thought the filter might be the issue here, on carb cars the engine tends to stall out with a plugged filter.

Why is my volume low in my 2004 pontiac Grand Prix? I am trying to install a pioneer fh-x700bt and the volume is really low even on max volume you can't really here it. I need help

If you are replacing the factory radio with this there are two issues that could be causing you grief. First, the radio only has 14 watts RMS power output. This is rather low by standards. Additionally, that is factored into a 4-ohm speaker load. Chances are that the factory speakers are 8-ohm, which will cause further loading. You should consider replacing the speakers with 4-ohm and possibly add an amplifier to the system to achieve optimal performance.

The factory radio in my 2007 Mercury Mariner Premier just quit playing audio all together. It still has power, lights up, displays the station info and all buttons appear to work via the display. It s

could be the speaker out put has come loose at back of radio as to have all speakers blow at once is just to much of a coincedence so pop the radio out and check wiring connentors if all ok looks likely the radio is needing replacing

How do i calibrate my powered subwoofer for my car

OK assuming you are referring to after market sub and amp whether or not added to factory head unit (stereo). #1 start your engine, and have your amp adjusting knobs accessible #2 insert a CD of the most listened to type of music (Rock, rap, classic) #3 adjust your stereo volume to YOUR max preferred db level with your amp levels at the lowest settings possible #4 start by increasing your freq. rang by 2 bands at a time then the same with gain, once you have gotten your bass to the level you like with out distorting or popping try increasing your bass boost (if available) till your preferred sound(may need to back off gain and freq. add bass boost accordingly until you like what you hear.play around with it for a while make sure you do this at the peak volume in which YOU listen to music because if you do it at a low volume and then turn it up you can blow your equipment . side not 8''in is for very fast bass reps, 10''in is for average rock and 12''s 15''s 22''s are for your low long deep bass reps such as rap and R&B anything else just e-mail me

Checked Manual: 1996 chevrolet 3500 6.5 turbo. What is a(PMD)? manual doesnt list it.

Common Problems:
Pump Mounted Driver: Relates to thermal failures. The PMD is screwed to the DS-4 injection pump on the 1994-2001 GM 6.5 diesel utilizing fuel flow to dissipate heat. The injection pump is mounted in the intake valley (a high heat area). The PMD contains two power transistors that should be cooled by proper contact with the injection pump body. If the pump is not precisely machined to make complete contact with the transistors via the silicone thermal gasket and paste, the PMD is improperly installed without the gasket or paste, the PMD is installed off center with the pump body, or corrosion develops on the mounting surface the PMD will overheat. Several companies manufacture an extension harness and heat-sink kits. These allow an owner or their mechanic to relocate the PMD away from the injection pump to a lower heat environment and/or a place that can get more air flow.

Hope helps (remember to rate this answer)

Truck Stalls

No need for guess work.
You can run a wire from the fuel pump positive to a dash an LED with a resister on it so it can work with 12 volts. Then you will see if the pump is getting voltage or not. This will allow you to eliminate ECU, relay, and probably the PMD (depending on exactly what that is).

But this does not discount the need to check things like the fuel filter, the gas tank vent or purge valve, etc. And you should still check the fuel rail pressure. It would not hurt to have a dash gauge for the fuel pressure as well.

1995 CHEVY 1500 6.5 TD NO START CRANKS OVER FINE DTC CODE #35 NEED TROUBLE TREE FOR NO START CODES

Found this online: GM Technical Service Bulletin #77-63-06Ab states that: "stalling, hard starting, and hesitation are symptoms of a failing PMD (Pump Mounted Driver) module." These symptoms usually (but not always) set a code 35 or 36 in the 1994 - 1995 models, or a code 1216 in the 1996 - up models. Often when this problem is diagnosed at a dealership or repair shop, the customer is told that the injection pump needs to be replaced. But in most cases, the PMD module can simply be replaced for a fraction of the price. ds4chevyfsd.jpgThe PMD module, (also referred to as the "Fuel Solonoid Driver") has been a major problem for Chevy / GMC 6.5L diesel owners since the introduction of the 6.5L electronically controlled DS4 fuel injection pump. It has been determined that heat is the primary cause of PMD failures. The PMD is mounted to the side of the fuel injection pump from the factory. But the injection pump does not provide adequate cooling to keep the PMD functional. Once the engine begins showing symptoms of hesitating, stalling and hard starting, the problem will only worsen with time. The problem only becomes more serious when considering the potential danger of your engine stalling in a situation such as pulling into heavy traffic or descending a steep hill and losing the use of power brakes and steering.

Hope this helps!
