SOURCE: Brand new weed eater lawn mower blowing white smoke.

Pull air filter see if theres any oil in it,make sure the oil isnt overfilled. Push mowers usually smoke like that if theyre overfilled,or tipped on thier side,if there is oil in filter simply take filter off, drain oil to correct level, and run it till smoke goes away. If none of this is the problem rings are probably shot. Weedeater is a cheap brand and theyre made cheap too,not made to last.

Toro 51978 weed eater can't pull the cord?

It is a two stroke motor. Have you been running it at the recommended gas / oil mix?

The pull cord should pull easily when unbolted from the trimmer engine.

Remove the spark plug. Add a dessert spoon of light machine oil like 3 in One and let it sit overnight with the piston and cylinder perfectly upright. The next day, turn the crankshaft three full revolutions with a wrench. Tip out any excess oil and refit the spark plug and pull starter.

My toro weed eater starts but will not stay running.

Chek/change the fuel filter, clean the carburetor and adjust if necessary. Do you have fresh gas? Have the correct mixture of 2 cycle oil and gas?

How do you check the oil in a Weed-Eater-500-Series Side Discharge Mower, Model 10854261. It has a basic Briggs Stratton engine. I have a lost the manual and cannot figure it out!! HELP!!!!

most mowers have a dip stick like a car and the oil should be changed often and acting as if it wants to stall try fresh fuel gas is only good for 30 days in small engines

My weed eater (toro), won't let me pull the cord at all. This weed eater doesn't take oil I don't think.

All internal combustion engines use oil of some description. I take it this is a 2 cycle engine and you have not added oil to the gas. If this is the case the engine is locked up, and must be replaced. Sorry.

Describe your Poulan/Weed Eater No. Te475 952711797 17" Le Gas Trimmer/Edger Problem Need gas to oil ratio for poulan prolink pp335 weed eater

I found the manual for this model weed eater, according to the manual the mixture...
and I quote "This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline. Before operation, gasoline
must be mixed with a good quality synthetic 2-cycle air cooled engine oil designed to be
mixed at a Ratio of 40:1 ...."
and I quote once more from the manual "Helpful Tip. To obtain
correct oil mix ration, pour 3.2 ounces of 2 cycle synthetic oil into one gallon of fresh gas."

Hope that helps,
If you like I can send the manual via email if you need it.

Need to know how much oil to mix with gas for a 4 cycle ryobi weed eater

You only need to mix oil with gas when it is a 2 cycle engine. 4 cycle engines run on straight gas. Since you didn't post your model number, here is a site you can hopefully find your owners manual at. Hope this helps.
