This tower is at least 10 years old, but has pictures and videos on it I am trying to retrieve. Is it possible the connection cord needs to attach to the pink port on the back of the tower instead of the blue port that most newer computers use?
First I'm not a AMD computer tech.
* normally I would suggest you check your warranty and call for service. Though I'm afraid most of us have retired or the computer companies have gone away (I remember Pan Am and Radio Shack)
* I'm amazed you still have a running AMD core. Mine have all failed decades ago. I really miss the VersiCAD and my Studio 9 Video editor. It's hard to let go knowing you've already spent $100's or more on equipment and software.
* Getting back to your monitor situation. You will need a converter to accept the old cable. A better bet would be to check your local thrift shop or swap meet for old tube style monitors (Pre Y2K). I used to get one for less than $5.
* Most of my computer problems stem from system crashing and newer replacements not working with the older software and formats. IE; I still have MP3 burner programs that will take a Audio CD and digitize the music. None of the computers can do this anymore (result of NAPSTER and copy rights).
* Recovering data is a bit easier as you can use an external drive (ATA format) and just connect it up via USB to a laptop or other desk top to transfer files to another upgraded drive like a SATA drive or even a USB flash drive.
* You may be able to recover programs but in most cases it won't work on newer computers unless your running a dual OS system (Run windows, DOS, Mac, on same computer but at different times using various start up methods)
* Most old software does not take advantage of upgrades as they didn't know about the upgrade at the time of development. Only a few programs have survived Y2K. Remember Wang, Lotus 123, DOS?
* Suggest you transfer your data as soon as possible to archive disk. Keep the old hard disk around for additional back up copy if you loose or damage existing data.

PS: Oh, to answer your specific question about no signal. Once you get the right monitor and still no signal then you need a new (or salvaged) Monitor card. It is possible that you may come across a Monitor card for your newer TV set but I don't remember if there were HDMI or other Hi Deff TV's around in the 1990's.
Just keep an eye out at old community collection stores for older computer equip.

Hi Roger,
Initially, pls try lowering the screen resolution of your PC. This can be done at the Display Properties/Settings tab and then move the slider of the Screen resolution towards the left, Apply OK. In some instances, you need to also lower down the Screen refresh rates in the Monitor tab of the Advanced Properties.
If your concern has not been corrected after completion of the above procedures, then other methods can be considered.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.

Power up headset. Press and hold the + and - Volume buttons until the red and blue lights flash . Your phone should now pair with the headset. For passcode I used 1234 and this worked.

You can take the cord to Radio Shack and get a 24 pin serial dongle to 9 pin dongle. take a picture of the back of the computer and of the cable if you have and they can find an adapter for you. Thanks for using fix-ya and rate this if it was helpful.

What do you mean your screen goes black. It is black to start isn't it? Does it come on at all?
If you meam you are getting a display, but it goes off, you need to check the power settings for your monitor, that are set by your PC. Click start, then control panel, then double click display. Then in the Dispay Properties window, click the Screensaver tab at the top middle. In the lower half of the page which opens, you can find power settings, and the rest is self explanatory. If this is not the answer to your problem, you need to give more detailed information.
One check you can do is to disconnect the signal cable from your monitor, and switch power on, and see what is displayed. You may well need a new monitor, but before running off to buy one, try to borrow one to connect to your pc, and also if possible, try to connect your monitor to another pc, or to a notebook/laptop.
