You cant from a network on a USB connection. USB connections are for "local" printers. "add" the Designjet T610 printer to your other PC under "printers and devices" tab. Good luck !

Cat-5 or Cat-5e Ethernet Cable (RJ-45 connectors) with crossed connection type will work without any problem. You may also find some helpful tips HERE.

It is either the formatter card...the connection to that card with the main PCA. or the main PCA. the formatter card is the part that you plug the ethernet or usb cable into. the main pca is the part that it plugs into. Both are pretty expensive.

You are doing some mistake.

All peripherals will attach directly to the main server or main system.

Then from the main system you attach the network switch and share the peripherals with other
system.

you connect the printer, plotter, scanner etc to your computer directly through the aproprite cable /
port.

For a single computer you can install a JetDirect card and assign an IP address. Then connect the computer to the plotter directly through the ethernet connection on the computer using a cross-over cable (standard ethernet cable will not work unless you use a hub). Another option is to simply use a USB cable connection. Drivers are available from HP.com, Support, Downloads.

First print a test page to determine the firmware version of the JetDirect card. If it's lower than A.05.05 it should be upgraded, first to A.05.05 (important!) and then to the latest version. Failing to do the "in-between" upgrade will render the JD card broken.

NOTE: If there's any doubt at all on how to do the JD firmware upgrade, contact your local HP support for help!

But after the upgrade you should be able to set the IP address (either fixed or DHCP) on the printer via the printer's control panel, if unsure your local HP Support should be able to help you. Then you need a HP Standard Port Monitor (can be found on HERE:) to get the best access to your printer. You don't need a new driver, ust install the HP Standard Port Monitor, go to the existing driver and create a new HP Standard TCP/IP port with the correct IP address.

You can purchase a External JetDirect card from any reputable HP (or computer) agent. This will allow you to plug the 450 directly into the network. The problem with the large format printers not being supported is strange to me. I have never had a problem, simply load the drivers and away you go. If the 450 drivers dont work for you, you can select any of the older drivers (750c recomended) and they will work on the 450c

THIS SOLUTION IM ABOUT TO TELL YOU IS IN MY EXPERIENCE THE EASIEST ONE JUST DOWNLOAD THE WINDOWS XP DRIVER FOR THE HP DESIGNJET 450C PRINTER AND INSTALL IT INTO THE WINDOWS PRINTER PLATTFORM, YOU MAY SEE SOME ANOUNCEMENTS FROM YOUR COMPUTER TELLING YOU THAT THE PROGRAM YOUR TRYING TO INSTALL MAY NOT BE COMPATIBLE "DONT LISTEN TO THEM" JUST CONTINUE YOUR INSTALLATION AND PRESTO YOUR DESIGNJET PRINTER WILL WORK PERFECTLY
