SOURCE: Making Verizon FIOS Compatible with my new TV

While not the ideal solution I have been using a Logitech Harmony remote for some time and I love it. You can set it up to work with any system and it is much more intuitive than a basic universal remote. This link lists most of the models available:

SOURCE: Samsung lcd hdtv won't receive signal from fios hd receiver

Hey nothingsfree,

You may not necessarily have anything incorrectly set up, but there are a couple of things that I would suggest trying.

First, you'll want to make sure that your TV is set to the correct input source. Some TV's will require that the input source be changed in order to display any signals from an external device, like your HD-DVR. This can typically be done by accessing the main video menu using your remote control.

According to information provided by the manufacturer, you should be able to change the input source for this model TV (Samsung LN46A750) by doing the following:

* Press the "Menu" button on your remote control
* Press the "Up" or "Down" arrow button to select "Input," then press "Enter"
* Press "Enter" to edit the "Source List"
* Highlight the signal source for the HD-DVR, and press "Enter"

Next, you may want to try updating the TV's firmware. In some instances, simply updating a TV's programming can eliminate any potential hardware or software conflicts between two devices. To update the TV's firmware you will need access to a computer and a USB flash drive. Step-by-step instructions and the firmware update itself are available through the following website:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/download/supportDown.do?group=televisions&type=televisions&subtype=lcdtv&model_nm=LN46A750R1F&language=&cate_type=all&dType=D&mType=FM&vType=L&prd_ia_cd=02010100&disp_nm=LN46A750

Make sure to read all the warnings and disclaimers available though, as your TV may already have a more up-to-date firmware version than the one that can be obtained through Samsung's support page.

Should neither of these address the issue, you may wish to see if connecting your HD-DVR to a different HDMI input solves the problem. Much like computers, TV's have been occasionally known to have faulty inputs or loose internal connections.

If all else fails, I’d suggest contacting the manufacturer for further assistance. In many cases manufacturers are able to provide over-the-phone troubleshooting support, in addition to having access to a wider variety of possible remedies for hardware problems.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Where is the power fuse located on a poloroid tv model 32gsr3000fc

It sits right behind and a little to the left of the main power plug, its not a typical fuse like you may be used to seeing, problem is if its blown a new fuse isn't going to fix it, this is another of the sets made by Funai in China and they are very poorly engineered and have lots of issues with the hot side of the power supply, or in your case the main power board, best thing to do is replace the entire board, they aren't that expensive. They used a couple different boards in this model so make sure to order the right one...below is a link to a couple of the differentboards

What does NO SIGNAL mean on fios tv screen?

It means that whatever your input is supposed to be, the TV is not picking up anything.
If your input, say a TV aerial or satellite decoder is connected to the ANT socket of your TV, then either the RF coax cable or the device producing the signal is off or disconnected.
The same goes for any other inputs that the TV is currently set up to receive.
Check your menu to see what the input is set to such as TV, AV then check that connection is good.

Wont connect to verizon dvr box, its connected to the video out cable and the fios tv cable.

Make sure that the dvr is not outputting a HD signal to your set - if it is, your set will not work unless you change the signal to 480 from the HD setting.

I am connected to FIOS. One of my T.V. screens shows a weak or no signal message. The second T.V. works fine?

This is the actual outlet signal that is coming through the box. You will need to call FIOS to have them tone that line. There is usually a charge for something like that around $75 from FIOS unlessyou have their protection plan. Otherwise, I would call BrightHouse :)

My Polaroid remote control won't work.

First we need to know if the remote is working. Heres the "secret" way to check a remote. Use a cell phone w/camera.

  • Set the cell phone to camera
  • while watching the camera screen and a known good remote, aim the remote at the lens and press a button (volume works well) on the remote (not a device button ie; sat,tv,vcr, etc). You should see lights turn on/flash. Now you know your camera can detect IR light.
  • Do the same again with the remote in question. If there is no IR light output, the remote is the problem. replace the batteries, ensure good battery contact, retest the remote.
If the remote is working then the problem is in the unit.

Let me know what you find.

Neat trick, huh? Please take the time to rate this.

I am trying to program fios set top box remote control and need the code for my Polaroid TV.

I own a One-for-All universal remote, and my booklet says the setup code for a Polaroid TV ( without a built-in VCR or DVD) is 0765. I can not be sure, if this number will work with your remote, but it is worth a try.
