SOURCE: bosch frost free fridge freezer not freezing ice cream/pops at all and meat not totally frozen

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.

  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer/board
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items. If it still has a problem then it might be the compressor and you should probably replace the machine.

SOURCE: frosting & water dripping from freezer in Frost free freezer

Hi, You will find that your problem relates to the defrost heater in the freezer. You will need to take the drawers out and remove the back panel to access the evaporator. There is a foil heater that lays underneath the evaporator and it will need to be changed. Along with the klixon that controls it. This will ensure that both parts are good. Your problem will then be fixed no more water!
Good luck................

SOURCE: BEKO Frost free freezer not as cold as it should be!

Sorry I don't have a solution for you, however would like to know if you found out what was wrong. I have an identical problem with my Beko fridge/freezer. It's only 14 months old and the freezer just wont freeze. I've turn it off for 24 hour and let it defrost completely (even had the panel off to make sure there was no ice left). I've turned it back on again and it still wont freeze. Everything seems ok, ie fan blowing, motor running etc. I really am beginning to regret buying Beko. thanks

Hi Nancy,

I bet you've got all kinds of frost / ice behind the plastic cover that protects (and shields from view) the cooling coil in the freezer compartment.

You probably have one or more: defrost timer, defrost terminator or defrost heating element that has failed. Call for service - or empty the fridge and unplug with door open for a day - ice will melt and when you plug in again it will work just fine. Until frost builds up again that is.

Good luck!

Freezer will not shut off some things frozen, bread and ice cream soft

Have you checked that the door is closing ok and that the door seals are meeting the door frame all round?
Do the things that freeze sit at the top of the freezer? if so it could be
the coolant gas has slowly leaked out. A good indication this has happened is that the bottom of the freezer is a lot warmer than the top. To repair a serviceman will first cut the coolant pipe and drain (and capture) the existing gas and then recharge, re-pressurise and seal.

Freezer seems to be stuck in defrost mode

Sounds like the pat test fried the pcb. They use too high a voltage to test the appliance wiring and it doesn't do printed boards much good!

One possible problem is the frost free part of the freezer. There is a heating element attached to the cooling coils to melt the frost off of the coils periodically. We had the problem of a burned out heating element and then later a bad sensor. There should be a panel in back which covers the cooling coils, if removed you find solid frost or even solid ice your freezer cannot cool the refridge sufficiently. Let the freezer defrost also be sure the drain to the evaporator pan underneath is clear you may have to empty the pan for there may be more water coming out then what the pan can hold and have the heating element and/or sensor checked out.

Freezer is not working. Ice maker is working. Started noticing the past 2 weeks that ice cream is melting. Refrigerator is working but not keeping things really cold. The unit is only 3 years old.

ice mker will soon quit as when ice cream is soft the tempt is rising . look for frost build up in back wall of freezer . if so the heaters have failed ( very common ) . they will have to be replaced . there is a new style that replaces mose G E heaters . and they are much better .. mm

Everything in our freezer is frozen solid except for the ice cream which is soft and mushy, the freezer is only about 3-4 years old and we checked and it is turned up to the coldest setting, any ideas what...

If this is a self defrosting model make sure that you don't have frost build up on the back wall of the freezer causing the air not to circulate like it should. If you do have frost build up other items will eventually start thawing as well. If this is the case you have a defrost problem.

If this is not a self defrosting model then make sure it does not need defrosting.

You normally will notice ice cream being soft before you notice other things thawing.

Also make sure the door is shutting good and you may try putting the ice cream in a different location.

Freezer seems as if it is not cold enough

Your sensor is packed in ice and giving false reading (always frozen)

You NEED to defrost. Will take 2hr

Turn off or Pull plug on freezer
Take everything out and put in cooler, brown bags, large bin or boxes to stay cold
Defrost by setting large pail of boiling water in each side bottom of freezer and closing door(s) for 1/2hr
Open freezer, empty pails in sink and use pails to hold large chunks of ice from freezer that will come out easily
Toss out ice chunks
Check sensor to be sure it is no longer packed in ice
Wipe down interior dry
close doors
plug in
wait 1/2hr
reload with stuff you want to keep
Done!
