Your model does not have a filter. You will have to add an inline water filter before supplying water to the refrigerator if you would like it to be filtered.

It should work with the filter removed because of a automatic bypass built into Amana refrigerators but sometimes even new filters or copy cat filters will not work at all because they have a defective area where they connect to your water system. http://appliance911seabreeze.com/
Removing a water filter from the base grill of your Amana brand
refrigerator:
Removing and replacing a water
filter - base grill location
Filters situated in the base grill (below the freezer compartment) of
Whirlpool-built side-by-side refrigerators are relatively simple to replace.
Follow these two steps:
Grasp the filter's end and make a one-quarter turn to the left.
Pull the filter straight out.
To replace with a new filter, repeat these two steps in the opposite order,
making sure to first remove the red cap from the filter. Proceed by pushing the
filter straight into the slot, and then giving it a one quarter turn to the
right. Note: Replacing this type of filter is quick - there is no need to
unplug your refrigerator when replacing it. Also, this filter should be replaced
every six months.
chances are you have a bad water valve,or the line for water is severed.....the valve your water line hooks 2 has 2 seperate solenoids, one for ice,one for water....the part is sold as an assembly
However, it is poor quality, and really doesn't give much hint where the filter is, or even if it has one. There is no mention of a filter anywhere. Sorry.
