Computer used to recognize my Logitech Clearchat no problem when I would plug it into my USB. Skype mic (voice) and audio worked great. Then, suddenly it started to give the "USB device not recognized" error. I have no problems with any other USB devices on my computer. Just this headset.

realtech hd is your sound device. go into windows control panel and access the sound settings then navigate to voice settings click the volume button, your mic might be muted. also if you want the headphones to work plug them into the plug that your speakers are using (side-note: mics and head phones never need something installed to work as long as your sound device works and your definitely does work, only when the mic is a special interface like USB do you need to install software and/or drivers)
in skype go to tools>options>audio setting make sue the microphone is logitech and the green bars should start moving as you talk. if no logitech appears or the mic is not producing sound. call logitech for warranty info. if the mic is producing sound below is "make a free skype test call" to see if the program is transmitting.
Have you checked the recording settings in Windows and in Skype? Try changing the default recording device to specifically indicate the device that has your headset plugged. I think the webcam also has a mic and that should not be selected.
Other thing to check is if there is some kind of resource conflict between your USB controller and audio card (use Device Manager).
go to tools>options>audio settings change the microphone to logitech. if the mic is already logitech. and no green bars are appearing contact logitech mic may be dead.
