Sounds like a drain issue. A/C will produce water (via condensation) and that is normal and okay. Look for a missing or dislodged hose. The water needs to happen, just not leak where you don't want it.

SOURCE: my furnace is leaking water when the heat is running

You probably have a 90+% efficient furnace. They produce condensation. Does it have PVC vent pipes? If so there is a drain tube for condensation.

SOURCE: Trane XR80 blows cold air.

I know that it's easy to spend someone elses money but in my experience when you get one actig that erratic it's usually the control board. I would check all the wiring including thermostat. You never know you might get lucky. I hope this helps you. Thanks

My trane xr 80 leaks water from the top of the unit which is wrapped in silver insulation. I cleared the pvc trap, still happens. thoughts anyone

So you have a furnace with AC coil on top.
There’s a drain pan inside this unit where the coil is.
There are a few reasons why you could be leak water.
Drain pan clogged
Drain pan broke or Incorrectly pitched

You would have to open the unit and look inside.
The first picture is what’s on top of your xr80
2nd picture that’s what it’s gonna look like inside
The black part is the drain pan. May look slight Different.
Don’t open the xr 80 furnace. You should have a professional take a look at this. Do at your own risk :)

TRANE XL80 WATER LEAKING INTO NEIGHBORS GARAGE (CONDO)

Correct me if I'm wrong , but isn't the XL80 an 80% efficiency gas powered, forced air furnace? If that is true, there should be no water coming from anywhere unless rain is coming in the chimney. An 80%er isn't a condensing furnace, so its not condensate. Are there other utilities like a water heater or tank that are in the same vicinity? That is much more likely. XL80 Trane

I live on the first floor of a two-story Condo. When my upstairs neighbor's A/C is running I get a loud "gulping" sound coming from my handler. What could suddenly be causing this?

Your drain line is not "trapped" properly. When your neighbors unit comes on its suckin air from your drainline. Make sure your drainline is trapped before it goes into common drainline.

Brand New 2 weeks old 4 ton Trane compressor leaks a lot of water onto pad

If the unit is running in cold weather than there is ice building up on the coils located outside. This is normal in that the unit is running in heat pump mode heating inside and cooling outside, After the unit detects the ice build up it briefly reverses the cycle heating the outside coils melting(defrosting) the ice which you observe as water on the pad.

The video gives you an example of the defrost cycle!

I have a Trane 90XL installed in 2001which has been running great for 10 years. Now in very cold temperatures this week there is water seeping from the base of the unit. Water is slightly yellow/green in...

Make sure all of the condensate lines are open. The Hose and traps from the furnace. With the cold weather the Furnace is running alot more and Condensing more water from the Flue Gases.
The Furnace can produce up to 5 Gals of water in an 8 hour period. If the drains are all open then you better get a professional to check out the furnace you could have a cracked secondary Heat exchanger which could be leaking carbon monxide into the house. Do you have a CO2 Detector in the house??

I live in a 4-unit condo building constructed in 2008. Recently, after I trained/programed a garage door opener incorporated in a new car I purchased, I discovered that my garage door started to be...

I would recommend this. I'm not sure this will work, but I think it will.
Try starting from scratch. Reprogram the unit to the car again, I think the codes change each time it is done. If not, it's not too difficult to try.

No heat through vents

Does your condo have more than one thermostat? if so there are powered dampers that open and close to direct heat where it's being called for. You may have dampers stuck/inoperative.
