In general, when the conditioned space is close to the desired temp, usually about +10 degrees, is where I would start checking as most freezers are about 0 to -10 degrees. I would look for a super heat 6-8 degrees and nothing less than 4 just before unit shuts off. This is usually the most common numbers used for most all freezers. Good luck!

When should you use SUPER byutton on Skandiluxe chest freezer

The SUPER button on a Skandiluxe chest freezer is typically used when you need to freeze food quickly, such as when you've just added a large amount of unfrozen food to the freezer. The SUPER function causes the freezer to operate at its coldest temperature for a period of time, which helps to freeze the food more quickly. After the desired amount of time, you can turn off the SUPER function to return the freezer to its normal operating mode.

We have a lemair 180 litre upright freezer, can you tell us what the super is for and do you have to use it all the time , thanks Sue

Super is for "alot of new unfrozen food", when the unit is loaded with a major amount of new food, super should be activated, the unit will go into long deep cycle without defrost cycle being activated, once food is frozen, turn off Super mode. This cycle is very uneconomical and should only be used in extreme circumstances. Hope that helps....Russ

HAVING PROBLEM WITH COMPRESSER TO HOT

If the condesnser coils are clean and condenser fan blde as well and refrigerants not low or(non condensibles) air in the system (high head pressure) than the superheat to the compressor should be ok, not more than 20 deg super heat at the compressor generally, if thats not it the thermal overloads bad or compressors low on oil or tired, take amp deaw and see pressures to know for sure, check super heat and subcooling too.

One cube has a face equivalent to the total area of another cube. find the ratio of their volumes?

Let the sides of the cubes be a and b,

the length of the diagonal of the cube whose side is b is given as square root(3)*b

according to the given question,

a=square root(3)*b

the volume of the cube with side a is given as

v1=a^3=(square root(3)*b)^3

and the volume of the cube with side b is

v2=b^3

then their ratio of volumes is given as

v1/v2=3*square root(3)*b^3/b^3=3*square root(3)

i.e v1:v2=3*square root(3):1

I have a freezer that does not keep tempreture. When I set it to -18 it will not get any warmer than -13 and if I try a super freeze it will take it the best part of all day to get to -18 and then it falls...

That you can get down to -18 suggests the compressor works and there is enough gas to get on with. Check the seals of the freezer for a heat leak- it should be able to grip a piece of paper in the door when it's shut. If the seal is bad then the paper will fall out or come with a gentle pull - order and replace the seal.

Freezer Unit Isn't Functioning

Inside the refrigeration system alot is goning on. You have to check the pressures low/high to determine the problem. It is easy to say that your unit needs freon but that is not always the case.
here is a list of possible problems:
dirty condenser
dirty evapoator
fans not working
defrost not working
lost of freon
bad compressor
bad compressor valves
slugging
flooding
lack of oil
super heat off
txv is stuck open/close not sensing
incompatilbe unknown freon mix...

well these are just some of the problems you can encounter. this was meant to tell not fix because each problem needs attention but hope this was a little helpful anyways

Need to know the design superheat also normal pressures on this unit with 404A refrigerant

The McCall web site has nothing easily found on the 7-7045FT unit.
In answer to you questions, first, what is the expansion device. TXV, Cap Tube, or something else?
Low site pressure will be dictated by the super heat. The high side, in many cases, is usually ambient plus 30, then convert to psi.

Let me know if you need more info. And please double check the model number/ serial numbers.

good luck
