Hello , I have a antique Schwab floor safe with a Yale lock .My great grandfather purchased it in the late 1800's or early 1900's when he moved to the U.S from Sweden. It was pasted to my grandfather to my father then to me. Before my father past away he told me he always had trouble opening it and said it once took him 2 hours to get it open. I have the 3 number combination 25 83 # but can't seem to open it..I'd appreciate any help . Thanks

They should be able to help. I would try calling first, to avoid paying the $12 to retrieve the combo, but with the serial number of the safe, they SHOULD be able to help you over the tele.

Also make sure you are executing the combination in the right steps... For mine (a three-number combo), these are the steps that work:

* turn the knob to the LEFT, pass 0 at least THREE times and stop at the first combo number
* turn the knob to the RIGHT, pass 0 ONCE and stop at the second comb number
* turn the knob to the LEFT and go directly to the third combo number (do not pass 0, do not collect $200)

Is there any way to crack the safe by feel, ive seen it done before and have some experience in opening locks with pin tumblers, but not wheel tumblers. i can find the notch in the third wheel at around 10-15 but i dont know where to go from there. I would not be using this information for any illegal use, i just need to open my safe on my own, and soon, thank you.

Buy the identical lock if possiable and return as defective and they will reset. Otherwise odds or 1 in 999,000 differant combos. This is airport baggage security lock.
