My sony bravia (32' lcd) has developed a thin vertical red line about 5 inches from the right side of the screen... it seems to ba about 1 mm thick on the bottom and fades near the top of the screen. How do I get rid of this artifact?
Bad panel.
I don't know how many flats I've seen with this and it's usually about 12-18 months this occures. It's like they're watching tv and get a soda pop, come back and it's there.
Way to fix this....always buy the extended warranty or buy from location that offers an extra year for free like some of the big box stores.
This maybe the symptom of a bad Panel. One Vertically This line is 99% bad panel. Call your warranty provider or SONY tech support if purchased under 2 years.

All of a sudden tonight thin vertical red line down left side of screen about 8 inches from side.
The problem we have is not one but several thin red lines that just appeared today. Depending on what is showing, the lines change to green.
I have a Sony xbr4 that developed a thin vertical red line, that seems to be increasing in size over the last 2 days. Also just a couple of weeks out of 1 year warranty. When the tv is off, you can still see the line behind the glass. I am very sad.

The redline on the Sony TV, mine is the same. Sony service, I contacted. Remove the power from the TV for 1 minute, they suggested.
The TV since I talked, no redline. Off and on it appears. Power removal, try, I have not. I will update if it goes away after the power removal.
I have about 5 inches total of distortion on my tv screen from the top to the bottom. It has green, red, yellow and blue lines about 3 inches wide and then another 2 inches of solid black line. Can this be fixed?
