My Philips GoGear MP3 Player is stuck

Been using this for a few months. Froze up on same song while on vacation last month, and continued to play same song on repeat until battery went down. Now is frozen with "Do Not Disconnect" as it was being charged on my laptop. Attempted to unplug and plug back in and Windows gives message of "USB device not recognized". Figure I'll be taking it back to Wal-Mart. Can anyone help? Thanks!

There should be a reset button on it somewhere it sounds like the song you transfered got corrupted when you put it on the mp3 player after it resets if there is a reset button plug it into your computer and delete that song and it should work fine after that

Screen froze wont turn off fully charged turned on played for a few seconds went to change song and whole thing froze up...

I suggest you hold the power off button. I've never used that MP3 player but I imagine you would need to resort to your manual. The manual should solve your problem, if not I would suggest taking it back or contacting customer support for help.

Thanks,
Brandon

Phillips gp gear will not play music downloaded.

The songs that you transferred have a DRM license on them that does not have transfer rights (i.e.: the songs you downloaded can be played on a computer, but cannot be transferred to an mp3 player). The GoGear is giving you this message in hopes that you will Sync it with Windows Media Player and acquire the said transfer rights.

If you download songs that are in true mp3 format, you will not have this problem. Also, if you choose a music service that allows mp3 transfer at your subscription levwel, and continue to pay for that subscription every month, it will also clear your problem.

MP3 Player is frozen

It sounds like you have a corrupted file. The solution would be to either locate the file that your MP3 Player is freezing on and delete it or format your mp3 players drive.

Philips GoGear Glitch

Make sure that there is available memory. If there is, then you will need to do a firmware upgrade and reload the songs onto the player. If you already have the latest firmware, then you will need to reformat the player either in Windows Media Player or the computer. If that fails, use the repair function in the Philips Device Manager.

8GB GoGear isnt working at all

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).
