A simple Google search for "Schwinn Paramount serial number: yields the following as the 1st result: Schwinn Paramount Registry Database It appears that only in 1966 did the Paramount use a 3 digit serial number, and one of the examples also starts with an "e".

The Le Tour serial number does not appear to be correct. Please check it as it is probably a AH beginning instead of 4H. If AH it is a 1972 (January). Nice bike with 3 piece cranks. Heavy, but not normally worth much. Expect a value under $200 if in really great shape. The Sports Tourer is definitely from 1972 (December). Also not worth a bunch. Also 3 piece cranks. Heavy steel Frame and fork. Remember that old man Schwinn wanted to keep his business proprietary, so his 27" tires and tubes from that era are a different size then everyone else. Finding "Schwinn Size" tires might be a little tricky and your normal Ace or Walmart may not have them. Also, buying too cheap of tires is not a great idea as often they won't bead well and you ride with humps. Tires alone could set you back over $100.00. Good tune-ups and cleanings could hit you for several hundreds more. If you don't want to put more then they are worth into them I would take off the cranks & seats and sell them on ebay and the rest to the scrap yard. IMO

When you tighten the quick-release skewer, the two sides of the fork will be pushed inwards over the axle. So basically, just tighten it up & it should be just fine. If not- take it back to the store you got it from!

The prices on ebay range from $1,000.00 up. Have a look.
Testimonial: "Thank you, Greg - my lemon peeler needs a lot of TLC (cleaning up, etc.) but since it is all original, I think it would be a real treasure for someone interested in bringing it back to life. Can you tell me what information the serial # offers? I think it is a 1973, but what do the other numbers mean? My father gave me this bike when I was approx. 10 years old (38 years ago), and I almost lost it to a yard sale my mother had back in the early 80's. Luckily I stopped her from selling it before it was too late! I've kept this bike with me throughout my life and would like it to go to a good home. Can you recommend the best place to post her for sale? I would prefer not to utilize E-Bay."
