Check the kitchen drawer next to the fridge for the screws !!
When you get new screws, use lengths 1/2".. any longer and you might hit something inside.
Don't know why this is posted under IS-LCDTV26.. I would pull a screw from my 26" and measure it, but it's most likely different than your 42"

Had same problem with Insignia TV...#12 - 24 x 1/2" machine screws...found at Home Depot in bagged items (can't use longer because some of the holes don't go all the way thru)

If there are any screws you can remove, and take to Home Depot or Lowes, or possibly Walmart, and perhaps they can match it for you.
If no screws available, may need to buy several sizes and try them.
