SOURCE: riccar sewing machine keeps breaking thread

Oh yes. GRRRRRR is the word!!! I hope I can help.

In many cases, breaking thread is caused by the upper tension being too tight, so that's something to check.

Another thing is to change your needle. If it's at all bent it can break the thread.

Third thing is to make sure you're using new, high quality thread. Older thread breaks more easily, especially if it's been in the sun.

Finally, clean and oil the machine. A bit of lint in the bobbin area can do all kinds of havoc.

Hope this helps!!

SOURCE: trying to sew straight stitch but stitch loose and...

No top tension, follow manual to thread top again and make sure tension dial is set to 5 and thread is pulled between the tension discs fully.

if you've tried to tighten the top tension and the tension knob isn't
responding the the tenison knob needs to be checked, cause it may
need to be replaced and that way the repair technican can also
check the timing of the machine

I need a Riccar RL739ed serger manual to change the looper width

Usually, the looper separation is permanently set. You can change the length but not the width of the stitch. You can also change the distance the stitches are from the edge of the fabric.

Riccar 777 sewing machine. I can’t get it to sew regular stitch. I have no book.

If it's an older mechanical machine, the stitch width selector or dial has most likely seized.

Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...
