Have a jd 7775 skidsteer that won't start on its own without the help of either

Lift pump works,runs fine after after light mist of spray,after switch is shut off silinoid engaged motor doesn't shut off.fuel silinoid works properly.

SOURCE: car will not start

there is no such reset switch located in the car. First turn your key on and listen for the fuel pump to pressurize the lines. Then check to see if the fuel is leaking from the  filter. If it is you may have got the connection wrong. If thats the case your engine is not getting the proper fuel pressure to run. Hence its sucking air. If that does not work you might have a bad fuel pressure regulator sensor that is bad. Its located by the TBI. Reference a Haynes manual for replacement.
also if you did not fill the new filter with fuel then you have air in you system and engine will not run. so try taking it off and filling it with fuel and then replace it.

turning ignition on removes air from fuel lines and primes the fuel system. filling fuel filter with fuel is irrelevent, as lines need to be clear of fuel upon installation. leave ignition on after installation for roughly 30 seconds-one minute. this will prime the fuel lines and remove air and most water from the system. if problem continues, fuel injectors. this is a common problem in 90-92 camaros. if cannot start car, you'll need to replace every injector, as it's not cost-effective to diagnose every injector. roughly 300 dollars in quality parts, roughly 4 man hours of labor. if rough start that requires push on accelerator (try this), run the car with fuel injector cleaner. this should salvage you injectors. if this helps proformance, starting, then for the next 3-4 full tanks of gas, add stp injection cleaner for every tank of gas. be careful, as this does not restore your injectors, but it helps clear away deposits which are common in multi port injectors.

SOURCE: no voltage going to new fuel pump

The GRAY wire i believe going to the fuel pump is the hot wire it should come on for 2 seconds with just the key in the on position this is were you should check voltage for 2 seconds then it will go away until you crank the truck.Your oil sending unit is behind your distributor that could be the cause .

SOURCE: fuel pump relay switch not working/ fuel pump emergency switch?

If the pump is making sound, then the relay must be ok.
It could still be weak, but you could tell with a pressure gauge.
(Harbor Freight sells a gauge kit cheap.)

But make sure the ignition is working first, by spraying in some starting fluid.
It is even sputters, then you know the ignition is ok.
If not, then check all the fuel injection connections.
The the temperature sensor and mass air sensor.
Use an ohmmeter, and check resistance against the norm.

ok could be a few things.

Have you changed the inline fuel filter? these usually have paper filter elements and after a while can be clogged with moisture which blocks fuel flow. The fuel pump will still have good pressure but the fuel rail will lack the flow required and you may burn out an injector as its running too lean. Secondly, the MAF sensor, could be dirty, clean it with electrical cleaner.

I think its more likeylt the fuel filter blocked. Try and bypass it if possible, reset the ECU and try agiain

I guess maybe the programmer/timer or other circuitry is defective and preventing power being supplied to the spark generator and/or fuel pump/combustion fan or perhaps the flame monitoring circuitry isn't working.

When a light oil burner starts the ignition spark is switched on first followed by the combustion fan and then the fuel pump supplies fuel to the spray nozzle under pressure and produces a jet of fine mist which ignites. If the flame dies the flame monitor signal also dies and the safety circuitry shuts off the pump.

That is roughly how many light oil burners work and as you now know there is a lot that should be happening, that is unlikely to happen if everything isn't in good order due to the requirement for safety.

Some Rg3 information is available to download if you are interested but if you want your boiler working quickly I advise you contact a professional.

Check the ballast resistor and its wiring. The ignition switch can be good on the start side but bad on the run side.

If your heater is spraying a light mist through your vents it could be your heater coil. Mine did the same thing, smell rubber burning, then started a light mist through the vents. If you don't get that checked out, it could mess up your water pump and possibly your engine

92 Camero SOMETIMES wont start, backfires or starts rough - but will run fine after it DOES start

I would want to know if it is ignition or fuel for sure. There are a few things you can try to narrow down the possible cause.
What does the cap and rotor look like, and is the spark a strong blue when it is running rough ?
Have you checked the actual fuel pressure with a gauge ? Does it matter if you spray carb cleaner or starting fluid into the throttle body ?
Any trouble codes stored in the computer ?
Its possible the coolant temp sensor is wrong and the computer thinks the air temp is 90 degrees instead of say 20 degrees. Or there is moisture in the dist cap or on the plug wires, and so on.

Have a 2002 dodge stratus with a 6 cyl 2.7L engine. Was running fine then all of a sudden became hard to start. Switched the windshield wiper relay with the fuel pump relay. Started fine for one day then...

I would buy a fuel pump relay for that particular car. If that relay that you switched with the wiper relay isn't the same exact one then the fuel pump will not work properly. Make sure the right relay is in there. Could also be a clogged fuel filter.

my experiance has been to find a cracked ignition coil, to check this you need a hande triggered spray bottle with water, open the hood and locate the coil start the engine and spray the coil down with a mist look and listen for an electrical arch or if the truck simply shuts off replace the coil and be carefull(its never happened to me) you dont get shocked

fdarrin, The first thing I would like to try is to take a pump water spray bottle filled with water. On a dry day when the engine is running fine, have the engine running and begin to "mist" water with the spray bottle on small sections of the ignition coils. You want to see if you can recreate the problem. Continue to spray the coils, spark plug wires and spark plugs and sensors until you get the problem to reoccur. It should help you narrow down were the problem might be. A cracked coil tower or coil is possible.
