So much for getting shoes with TPR soles. They do that.

I did the same thing. It might be a little late for you, but I found this UK page by Dr. Scholl:

There are buckles that are easy to adjust once you know how. Take the slide and move it sideways to the outside. Lift the strap and adjust it to fit and then close the buckle. You should be set!

How to use other attachments

You didn't say what needs to be cleaned. If it is the straps, any shoe repair shop or any good shoe store should have suede cleaner.
It won't be cork under the bottom and if that is dirty, then an old soft toothbrush with dish detergent would take care of most dirt that you would get on them. You can seal them with something like Klebfast cork sealer to keep the dirt from coming back in at the sole.
