My Mitsubishi WD-73840 is turning off after 3 minutes. And the picture lacks contrast and colors. What is wrong? I changed the lamp already, it was malfunctioning. Thank you.

If your TV is DLP , Then your Light engine is Bad,when color changes and little spots appear it is light engine.

Ballast Board may be Bad it is what turn Lamp on Call Encompass for parts 1-800-638-3328 or look for one on E-Bay they have good deals on Parts.Also CK Fan to Lamp it maybe defective .Call Mats for Fan 1-800-628-1118 they have lamps also.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WD-65733 no picture, electrical buzzes in series

What it sound's like is that the lamp ballast is the problem. Buzzing sounds like when the power is first brought to the ballast it has to ramp up the voltage to get the lamp to light, then the voltage drops back down when the lamp is lit. Sounds like the lamp ballast isn't ramping up the voltage the way it should. May have to replace it. A good service shop would be able to do this for you.
