Hi there, I've owned a Hitachi 32HB6J51U for about 18 months and all was fine until last night when the screen went black but I could still hear sound. After leaving it unplugged all night it did work momentarily this morning, but after 5 minutes or so the picture was lost again. Since then it does work momentarily after leaving it unplugged for a few hours. I have tried the torch method but I don't seem to be able to see an image on the screen. I've opened up the TV down to the LEDs and they all work when I power up the TV, and I can also see light through the vents at the back when the screen goes black. This leads me to believe the LEDs are fine and there is a problem with one of the boards. It looks as though the TV has a combined PSU and inverter Vestel 17IPS62 and separate main board Vestel 17MB110. There is also what I believe is a t-con connected to the screen at the bottom of the unit. At the moment I am thinking I need to replace the inverter/power supply board but I don't have much experience in repairing TVs and can't be sure. Is there a possibility that the t-con could be causing the problem? Thanks in advance.
It does sound to me like the T-Con. If you can change the channels even though you can't see the picture then that's is a T-Con problem. Especially as you can see the lights. Before replacing any of the boards check for bad solder joints and poor connections between the boards, as the TV does sometimes function right.

I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.

I delt with 3 vizios with the same problem. For all three, I had to install an internal cooling fan (server type) and run a 12v adaptor to the exterior of the tv case. Everyone I did this for was ok with this as they always had a power strip or second outlet to power on the fan. The overheating sensor is located on the power supply, but without additional cooling of some type this sensor will trip every time.
I've also recommended that some people put a fan behind the tv while it is in operation (if you can stand the noise).
I wish a had a easier fix for you, but this was the only thing that worked on this type of problem that I've seen many times in the past. Board repairs and replacements would yield the same problem due to the heat being trapped internally.
Thank you and best of luck!
