My Avital 4300 is randomly unlocking the doors. Car off or running. It will do it every few minutes even after they are unlocked. All the remote functions work.

first ask maker what to do ,car maker
some have kit that allows this. others do no.
modern cars the IMMO system thinks it is being hacked
(and is) and does bad things, even random or worse.

Start by disconnecting your car battery. Wait five minutes, then reconnect it and see if the problem goes away. That will reset the computer.

a negative or a positive one has been mixed up

if its neg change it to the positive one

if its positive change it for the negative one

the purple or green wire

I got this free Pdf manual from an online store for free and I don't think Ive visited a mechanic or fixya for help for more than 3-4 times out of the all the times I fixed the chipper in these 4 years

If the remote is arming and disarming the alarm then, it should be locking and unlocking the doors as well. The door lock and unlock wires need to be connected. Are sure that they are connected? Do the door locks work with the switch?

Manually disarm the alarm by turning the ignition on, press and release the valet switch.

Best thing i would do is remove the battery for a few minutes and then put it back on

The way the system was set up?! Here is what it sounds like. If you cannot start the car with the key but, you can start it with the remote starter means two things; the car has a starter inhibit installed and it's active or, the starter wire is cut and isolated from the ignition cylinder and the remote starter is connected to the starter side only of said cut wire.
About the keyless entry; Ford vehicle have a battery save mode that, after 10 minutes or so, the GEM module goes to sleep. The installation of a keyless entry system on these vehicles require connections at the unlock, driver's door ajar/latch wire and factory alarm disarm and programmed to double pulse. This will wake up the GEM and unlock the doors.

The Camry you purchased may not be equipped with a power trunk. Press and hold the trunk button for appoximately 4 seconds. The trunk should release if the wire is connected and, you have a power trunk.
The Camry (and other toyotas) require a double pulse on the unlock wire. If the double pulse is not programmed the aftermarket unit will mimic the factory keyless entry. One press of the unlock button opens the drivers door. Immediately press the unlock button again to unlock the other doors.

Avital and viper remotes even though they look the same, they operate at different freqs. Im a retired alarm installer i could never get them to interchange.
