I have a Nakajima WPT-150. The ribbon advances inconsistently causing some letters to appear too light. How do I fix this?

SOURCE: how do you insert correction tape?

The slots for correction tape is at the ribbon carriage left & right. Install it by first attach the supply side (full tape) at the left and make sure the rough surface of the tape face toward the platen and attach take off side at the right side.

Check to see if the ribbon is moving, then advance the ribbon manually about 6 inches, the ribbon may be old and they do go bad especially the exposed part. If the ribbon isn't advancing Code peroid, comma or slash will get you out of the overstrike mode.
