Grips are neutral and can be used by right or left handed players. The exception would be a molded training-type grip which is used on some swing aids or can be installed on a club to learn how the hands should be placed on the club, but they are not legal for normal play.

How long should golf gloves last?

That depends on how much you golf and how strong you hold the golf club. If you golf about twice a week and you don't grip the club that hard, the grip on the gloves will probably wear out in 4-5 weeks.

What is the correct golf grip?

There are several. The thing they all have in common is to connect the hands so that they become one unit working together, and deliver the clubhead so that it's going to hit the ball squarely.
The two most common are overlapping and interlocking which are pretty similar. If you're right handed, an overlapping grip would overlap the pinkie of your lower (right) hand over the index finger of your upper hand (left). Interlocking is similar except you put your right pinkie between the index finger and middle finger of your left hand.
Some also use a "baseball" grip with no overlapping or inerlocking and I've seen some people interlock/overlap more fingers.
Grip is a HUGE foundation component of your swing. A bad grip can prevent you from playing well, so it pays to get a lesson and learn how to do it right, rather than learn it wrong and let create muscle memory of a bad grip.

New Sharpro grips; having trouble getting them over the end of the club to slip on. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hello,

You want to make sure the shaft your installing on is the same butt diameter as the grips. If the shafts bigger than the grips it is possible to stretch them on there however you risk tearing the grip.

Also you may not have just put it on far enough. Once you start sliding it on don\'t stop! If there is extra play at the end you can use a needle and inject solvent under the grip to loosen it up.

What is a golf glove?

Golf gloves help to grip the club and prevent blistering. Gloves are sold individually and normally worn only on the players' non-dominant hand, but it is not unheard-of for a player to wear gloves on both hands to reduce chafing.

I have an older Huffy, with grip shifters. The shifter (left hand) is almost impossible to shift the chain from the small sprocket to the middle or largest sprocket. The deraileur seams to be moving freely...

First, try to isolate the trouble like you have... obviously the derailieur is moviong freely. Next, I would disconnect the shifter cable from the derailieur (make sure to mark previous position of cable) Next, shift the left hand grip to see if the grip moves freely, you've already replaced the cable, soooooo, disassemble the grip and grease or replace the grip shift unit...hope this helps

Drill chuck removal

The screw should be left hand thread and the chuck is normal thread. The 'workshop' way to remove the chuck is to remove the screw (done). If the jaws are still working then clamp a sturdy allen key in it and whack it against a workbench to unscrew the chuck. If holding the drill in the normal position you would stand with the workbench to your left and whack it down on that. If the jaws aren't working then you can grip the body in a vice and use large pipe grips or stiltsons on the chuck. Also check to see if the chuck spindle will accept a thin spanner to hold it, as this is a slightly more caring way to brace the spindle. Then you can can hold the spanner in the vice and use the allen key in the chuck and unscrew it that way.
