SOURCE: Kirby Heritage 2 fan replacement

Take the bag asm. and handle off. Then remove the plastic strip covering the switch, remove the screw there, remove the 3 screws on the housing, turn it over and loosen the screw near the back, the housing should come off. Then remove the screws on the back of the fan casing. You shouild be able to get to the fan, hold the fan and turn the spindle to the right to take off. If it would turn off, then you may have to lock the armature so it can't turn to move it. Then re-asemble in reverse.

SOURCE: Carbon Brushes wearing out quickly on Kirby Heritage II

4 possible reasons.
1 – one or both bearings are worn so armature (rotating part) wobbles as it is spinning and cause motor brushes to wear fast. Solution – change bearings too.
2 – Whoever replaced brushes – did not use some brush seating sticks to make cmutator smother and contour brushes to the shape of the comutator (not likely). Solution – appropriately install new set of brushes.
3 – Comutator is so warped that seating sticks do not help anymore – solution – new armature or turn the old armature.
4 – The fact that ONLY ONE brush was worn may mean that there is something wrong with the brush or housing. Maybe it could not move freely within the housing? I think this may be most likely cause it it may be a combination of all 4.Is it worth to fix? Hmm depends how much will it be. If this is 100+ - I’d say get newer Kirby for 300 ad enjoy the tech drive (Heritage does not have tech drive so it is much harder to vacuum with than the newer models)

SOURCE: Roller brush not spinning?

THIS GEEN LIGHT MEANS THAT THE BELT HAS COME OFF. THE REPLACEMENT IS AS FOLLOWS: FLIP THE BRUSH (RUG RENOVATOR) OVER AND REMOVE THE SCREWS ON THE SILVER GUARD THAT KEEPS THE ROLLER IN PLACE. SLIDE THE ROLLER UP OUT OF THE SLOT, TAKING NOTE ON THE HALF MOON SHAPED SIDE. REMOVE THE OLD BELT(OR WHAT'S LEFT OF IT). PLACE THE BELT AROUND THE MOTOR SHAFT FIRST. THEN AROUND THE WOODEN BARE SPOT ON THE ROLLER. PUT THE ROUND(CIRCULAR) SIDE OF THE ROLLER IN FIRST, THEN CAREFULLY STRETCH THE ROLLER WHILE HOLDING IN THE ROUND SIDE IN ONE SIDE AND ROTATE THE ROLLER UNTILL THE HALF MOON LINES UP TO THE SLOT. PUSH IT DOWN INTO THE SLOT AND PUT THE ROLLER COVER BACK IN PLACE AND RE-INSTALL THE SCREWS. AND THERE YOU HAVE IT. HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANK YOU FOR THE HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA.

Kirby heritage II vacuumn doesn't pick up much. have taken it in for repair a couple of times at a substantial and after a about a year same problem again. Have checked connections, cleaned out. please...

Is the brush roll turning like it should under load? They stretch after a short use and you could probably change bets 2 or 3 times a year. When the brush isn't working right, then things don't get picked up.

the above link shows you how to change the belt on the g-series kirbys but it will apply to the heritage edition as well...the only difference is the color...some of the arrows may be missing on the front belt lifter knob...but they are little differences...

hope this helps!!!

Roller brush doesn't move

Here is a online guide....it's for the G series Kirbys. They're similar enough that it should help. Pay special attention to the belt lifting process...it's exactly the same as for the Heritage II, and it's also where I think your problem lies. I have a Heritage II manual available too! Hope I have helped...
