Although there is an array of colors and styles to choose from, we recommend picking a darker shade as it will block and reflect maximum sunlight, creating an optimal sleeping solution for you light sleepers out there. The 42-inch curtain comes with 6 grommets. The grommets holes are big enough so that it fits most rods in the market and they also let you slide the window curtains easily. Mind you that each package includes only one panel. So, you might have to order two panels if you have a wide window. Provided the inexpensive price tag, terrific light blocking ability and ease of setting up, that shouldn't pose a problem. https://depthreviews.com/best-blackout-curtains

I am sewing voile curtains, but the stitching keeps looping on the underside

Check your sample. Is it the top thread that is looping under the fabric? That is called bird nesting or thread nesting. It happens frequently if the top thread is not seated completely in the tension disk. It could also be a top tension problem.

Be sure to use a brand new needle compatible with the thread and fabric.
Remove the top thread from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning.
Set the top tension to the midway point and test on a scrap of the same fabric. Adjust the top tension until the top and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric. (Tightening the top tension will pull the bobbin thread up. Loosening the top tension will allow the bobbin thread to pull the top thread down.)

What size needle required for sewing Velvet curtains??

What kind of velvet? Poly-based fabrics often require ball-point needles to avoid pulls. For apparel weight velvet (something I'd make a skirt with), I'd probably use at least an 90, possibly heavier. For really heavy, upholstery-weight, I'd use my walking-foot machine and a 100-110 (often used for jeans). But I'm sure I'd want to bind all of the seams on my serger, I often bind after sewing the regular seams, but for very heavy fabrics I'd bind first (just run up all of the edges of each piece before sewing seams).
Hope this helps.

What is the correct needle size for a elna 3003 sewing machine

130/705h, standard sewing machine needle for 99% of all domestic machines. Flat shank to the back of the machine. Sharp or universal for woven, ball point for stretch fabrics. Choose needle size depending on fabric weight you are sewing. 60 for fine silk, 70 cotton voile, 80 for poplin, 90 for home spun or drill, 100 for denim, 110 for coating, curtains etc.

I have a sewing machine-single needle model 03914, but I don't how to put the needle for delicate fabric and for thick fabric?

Use size 60 for very fine (chiffon), size 70 for light weights like voile and cotton, 80 or 90 for medium weights such as a broadcloth, size 100 for denim and size 110 for something very heavy like a thick curtain or upholstery weight fabric. If you aren't sure what size to use, try pushing a needle into the fabric you are going to sew with your fingers, if it goes in easily and the hole it leaves is not noticeable then it is okay, if it leaves a big hole, then go down a size. If you use a needle that is too small on a fabric, then it is going to go blunt quickly or break.

good info here http://sewing.about.com/od/sewingmachineindex/ig/Sewing-Machine-Needles/Needle-Sizes.--94.htm on needle sizes.

Trying to sew curtains!!!! Been testing the machine on a swatch of fabric and it seems to be working but then when i turn the fabric over the stiching is all loose and loopy. Is the bobbin tension the...

check both upper & lower tensions
also check your needle to see if it's bent-roll on a flat surface to see if it rolls correctly
if the needle is blunt-it makes a popping sound when it penetrates the fabric
also check the bobbin area for lint & loose thread-some fabric produces more lint than others
make sure the bobbin isn't warped
make sure that the bobbin is correctly in the bobbin case & that the bobbin case is correctly inserted in the machine

I have a brother B757, I am making curtains and the fabric at the bottom ends up being longer than the fabric at the top can you solve this

I found out that by spraying silicone on each side of joins that it made the fabric glide through the feed dog real easy, this really works well, make sure that the silicone is suitable for sewing machines.

Sewing happily on any material when suddenly the neadle hits metal and bends or worse snaps.

Be sure to have the right needle for the right material! that sounds maybe a bit like I am taking you for a ride! but not! I sew professionally and have a box full of needles! Most of the needles you buy in the shop have a designation (jeans, jersey etc! ) afterwards there is something like 70, 80, 90 up till 100!
70 - very fine fabrics, silks and sheers
80 - fine fabrics, thin cottons
90 - average and 'normal' fabrics
100 and more - thick fabrics, curtains etc!
If your problem persist, you may need to take your machine for servicing! how old is it? and what brand? yours,
rick
