SOURCE: 93 katana 600 wont start

Take one of the plugs out and hold it against the head while the engine cranks. You should get decent spark. If not, you have an ignition problem. If it gets decent spark, try spraying some starting fluid into the air cleaner box. If the engine starts up and runs for a couple seconds, you have a fuel delivery problem.

Cub cadet with kohler sv725 has compression, and spark wont start even on starting fluid sprayed in carb

There needs to be fuel, air, spark and compression. It may not start with starter fluid if it's already flooded. It may not start if a valve is stuck open.
You can take the sparkplug out and check to make sure it's not got excess fuel. Plug should be dry.

Kohler 7000 series engine trouble shooting

indicates a problem in the carby , filter or fuel lines as a lack of fuel flow
remove the tap at the tank as there may be a small gauze filter there that is blocked
check tap operation for fuel flow as if it is a metal tap it could be corroded inside restricting fuel flow
check float level --too low
check for blockage in main jet

Bike is totally choked

You mean flooded (with too much gas)?

You said the carbs were cleaned.
Did it work ok after that, or is that when the problem started?
Do you use the choke to start it when cold? When warm/hot? not at all because you figure its getting too much gas as it is?

I got my mower out the other day it did fine till I engaged the electric pto, it then died and I cant get it started since then. It is getting spark and is getting fuel. It act like it is flooded , I have...

If the fuel is set too high and the choke is on it is easy to flood it. The solution is to open the choke and keep the throttle low for a few turns to air dry the spark plugs then back to choke to start it again

My cub cadet 221 cranks won't start

Clean your carb, if you have not stored it correctly you have a dirty carb now. Carb could be gummed up.

I have a 1986 suzuki 650 savage the carb seems to have a problem. It started flooding gas coming out the over flow. I took it off and took the float cover off and replaced the needle needle set and float....

Yea these carbs can be a real pain sometimes to get right. First thing you need to do is varify the float seat is working and totally stopping all fuel flow.... and all the jets, main, pilot and choke circuit are absolutely clean. Bench test the float needle valve by connecting a hose to the carb fuel line nipple and letting gas gravity feed as it would in a run position. if it tests ok, remount it on the bike...
i'm guessing you have a vacuum petcock on this year model? If you do, it needs to be inspected.
In the "on" position you should have no gas flow coming through the petcock, In the "prime" position it free flows. If there is a hole in the diaphram the engine will **** gas and not air (vacuum) through the hose and it will flood. If you don't have a vacuum line on your petcock then it is a different kind. Be sure to check your crankcase, it could be way past full with gas that has entered, dont start your engine like that...drain it all out. make sure the air filter is dry. You will have to replace the spark plugs...a gas soaked plug won't fire.
Good luck, i hope this helps.

Stihl ms-250 won,t start , and gas leaking from under the exhaust manifold , also plug seems not to be spaking even when dry . every time i try to start engine it floods . ?? the saw is only 3 mths old ....

You may need a carb rebuild kit. they are thin rubber diaphrams and will harden up and warp if not used regularly or if the fuel is improperly mixed.
These are easy to flood if you pull them too many times on choke. Pull it on HALF choke until it pops. then turn the choke off, into the run (I) position and pull it until it starts.
If it's flooded, remove teh plug under the cover, blow off the sparking end and pull the engine a few times without the plug. this will empy the cylinder. WATCH YOUR EYES!
