Most all appliances are designed to be in an ambient not to exceed 80 degrees. Units will function but not up to design specs and would really strain to work. Only commercial unit can survive in temps up to 95 degrees in the Southeast U.S. and this temp varies depending on your general location.

is it possible the door has not been closed at some point?
If so they can build up with ice in the evaporator which the defrost system cannot handle....Try a manual defrost.
Depending on where the unit is installed high ambient temperature can drop the internal temp enough to set the alarm off though they will still freeze sufficiently

SOURCE: my kenmore 9 upright freezer feels warm on the

Hi,

This is normal. The condenser coils on freezers are typically located in the walls.

The refrigerator in your kitchen has condenser coils that are hot either under the frig or on the back. Freezers do not need as much heat transfer on the coils with the air so they put them in the walls, it is called a warm wall condenser. It may even feel hot to the touch if you happen to feel it near the end of a cooling cycle. It will be the warmest close to the compressor and cool off at it makes it around the cabinet down to the other side.

Does Kenmore Elite upright freezer reach -20 degrees celsius, where is the info?

Hi,

Best way I can answer this is to purchase the right equipment for the job. A domestic freezer is not designed to work like that, although it may get there in temp it won't hold it. Recovery is slower then the industrial unit you seek. Domestic unit warranties are void if used for commercial settings (i.e. lunch rooms, offices, lab's, etc...) I wish I had a better answer for you but if you need a specific temperature get the correct equipment for the job. Good Luck

Kenmore freezer too warm

Are you referring to the internal temperature of the freezer? If so
have you checked that the door is closing ok and that the door seals are meeting the door frame all round?
It might be that the coolant gas has slowly leaked out. A good indication this has happened is that the bottom of the freezer is a lot warmer than the top. If this is the case a serviceman will need to drain the existing gas and then recharge, re-pressurise and seal.
If you are referring to the outside cabinet temperature then it's probably ok and there is no fault. You would expect the outside panels of a freezer to be around room temperature or warmer as the freezer removes heat from inside the cabinet and expels it outside.

Yellow power light keeps blinking on upright freezer even after replacing 9V battery and temperature is good.Have waited about 16 hours for freezer to stabilize. Problem?

If its the power light, and not a temperature alarm light, it may only indicate that there was a power loss, perhaps you had a brown out or power surge. you say the temps are good, any chance you have ice cream or bread in freezer? if its above 10° F they will be first to get soft, rather than firm. If I had the model # as it is on the model number tag, the only tag usually on the inside or possible on the outside, of the unit, that will have the model and serial number both listed.

Kenmore 253 9280413 freezer keeps running

The coils are embedded in the outer walls and will make the cabinet feel warm outside when the compressor is running. It needs about 4 inches of clear air space around all the outer case walls to properly get rid of its heat. If you have items stored too close to the outer walls they will act as insulation to keep heat from being dissipated. This can cause long run times.

A unit that has lost freon gas due to leakage, while unlikely, can also extend run times. Normal temperature should be about Zero when the dial is set to halfway.

Good Luck

Does the light on the outside of freezer stay on . I bought a used freezer. It is a frigidaire commercial upright (frost free) Does the light on outside of freezer stay on all the time? I have no manual....

Normally there is a Green light showing that power is on

A Yellow one for fast freeze and a Red one for under temperature

The outer casing is well insulated from the inside otherwise the freezer motor would run none stop without cooling the contents so the temperature of the outside casing will reflect the room temperature not the intenal

Freezer won't run

There is no reset switch. There is a thermal overload protector mounted on the compressor. Does the compressor hum and then give a click sound. If so your compressor has failed. If the compressor is cold (Room Temperature) and it does not try to run your thermostat may be bad. If so remove the temperature control and jumper the two main wires that connect to the control. Unit should be unplugged to do this operation. Insulated the wires so they do not contact any metal surface. Plug the freezer back in. If it runs and cools replace the thermostat.

FREEZER ALARM WILL NOT SHUT OFF

Use a freezer thermometer and tell me the actual temperature. Or at least store some ice cream and see if it stays brick hard. Unless I have some idea of the actual temp I can't tell if defective freezer or alarm
