LG HBS-912, media works fine, during calls it starts fine and then I can't hear or talk, still connected, have to switch to the phone

Be certain to check that Mute is unselected.

Also, try to reset by removing and reinserting the battery.

If still a problem and you are comfortable, take your phone apart and be certain that the contacts are centered and the microphone is OK.

SOURCE: Motorola I776, Only works on speaker phone.

Replace the flip assembly, the ear receiver is dead and thats why you cant hear, replace the flip and you'll be fine, its not expensive and this is a common issue with motorola flip phones.
