I have the same problem as Bobba, the TV works ok for a a short time, and then auto switches to standby. If i turn it back on, it auto switches to standby again within seconds, rendering the set useless. I have painstakingly managed to check the settings in the menu by constantly switching the set on and doing what i can in the few seconds i have, over and over. The settings seem ok, eg, timer is off, sleep is off, install and tuning ok, channel edit ok etc .... can you help whilst i have a shred of hair left please ? - make sure your cover is placed back ON or put a tape over switch cover.
- Are you getting any sound? if so, check your connection on the ballast.
- You should have one small green light ON from the back when TV is OFF. When you turn ON the TV manually or by remote, You should hear one click and then the color wheel starts turning, then the large light bulb should start to turn ON, then a few seconds later the sound and picture appears. If the remote or manual functiomn does not do anything,m then your DIGITAL board is gone. If you get the TV to turn ON and get something, there is a problem else where, probably ballast board near switch cover bottom right.
you have to turn the screen control up a bit.there are 2 conrols on the flyback transformer,top one is focas bottom one is screen,turn it up 1/8 turn turn set off then on.repeat this until picture appears(if you turn it up too much picture will be to brite with lines and will shut off) if it shuts off just turn contron down a bit then restart it.
no problem just turn system to standby mode and hold power on switch on system itself down for 10sec this will reset factory settings and picture should appear
OK I got my first TV, first to repair myself that is, and I have no training at all but am kind of a tech dork wannabe. So I checked and I have sound but no signal through the TV tuner, so I hooked up my Zenith VCR to aux 1 and sound with signal appeared, the VCR tuner still works :) so I am leaning toward the TV tuner. It is visibly damaged, and I'm hoping it is as simple as a broken connection. I also noticed a vertical flash and pattern of horizontal lines when it is turned off (white). sooooo I push on.... help!!!!!!!!!!!!! :>}
Perhaps your remote is set to video recorder? Try that first, and if no response, try calling up a menu on your TV and look for the Picture Settings.
Good Luck.
