When i switch the tv on it will be on for 1 minute then the screen shuts off but the unit is on. does the unit goes to sleep mode or the tv is gone bad.

What you are experiencing isn't "sleep" mode, it is the screen saver. If you have WINXP, right click on a clear area of the desktop, and select "Properties". When the DISPLAY PROPERTIES window appears, select the "screen saver" tab. Change the "WAIT" time to the time you wish the scrren saver to delay. If you don't want to have to login after a screen time out, uncheck the "On resume, display Welcome Screen" box.

Disable the hibernate mode and standby, uncheck hibernate on left, then sellect never on all three in power settings.

Check that you have not set the sleep timer on so that it goes off after 1 hour

Unfortunately, the unit is not going into "Sleep mode".
The PROTECTION error actually means that the unit is overheating.
The unit shuts itself off to avoid further damage.
Try to make sure that no other device is below the unit. Also make sure the unit has adequate ventilation on the back of it.
If not, call 1-800-7267864 and let them set up a repair order for the unit.

I think it's in sleep mode. On your remote, click the button that says 'sleep' until it says '0 minutes'

try it on tuner mode to seperate the fault from video to rf input,if gone the video pc board is at fault.

Press the volume button on the side of the phone to display a screen similar to previous Sony Ericsson Cybershot phones during standby mode. It will display the time and a message icon. This is probably an energy saving feature when the screen goes black in standby mode, but you must press the volume button to get to that screen.

Are you connected using R,G,B (component) cables? Check them to make sure they are in firmly - if so, then try a new set - that may very well fix the rolling issue. (Unless the rolling is caused by poor antenna reception).

Press "Sleep" on the original remote control for this TV if you still have it until the TV says "Sleep OFF".

If no strong TV signal is detected, this unit goes into sleep mode, which may explain Tuner B shutting off after 5 minutes.
