Could be that the tab that acturates the sensor to tell the copier the door is closed is broken, check the door itself any damage to the tab or the senor the tab acturates is dirty or broken from its mount or bad
Sir there is a lever in the rear of the machine when you lift the document feeder it is not jam or broke, also there is a small magnet and sensor in the front of the Doc feeder right side and the copier it self ensure the document feeder is properly aligned. Does this happen on the document feeder or on the big glass? Also mite want to have a technician run alignment & tray adjustment.
Check the connection of the doc feeder to the copier. if you open a cover on the doc feeder does reflect on the copier? Ensure the doc feeder is aligned there is a small magnet right front side of the doc feeder that sits on top of a switch (Can not be seen underneath front plastic the copier when down. Adjustment bolts for the doc feeder is the rear right hinge only.
COF32 means the ATDC sensor has detected some unusually high or low readings. The ATDC sensor measure the toner lever inside the developer unit. Try swithcing on/off, open/close the front door to clear the code. If this doesn't work, you'll need an engineer to reset the ATDC level.
Try to replace the 'paper is present' sensor with the 'cover open' one to see if now it is detecting the paper. Also, check the actuator that enter in that sensor.
