Jensen VX7020. Attempted to update. Downloaded files onto sd card. Went part way through update and froze up. Now just comes up to a blank screen. Anything I can do to reset and get update loaded?

I have the same system and there's no problem with the sound.

First, the SDcard with the navigation software should be in the NAV101 not on the VM9022.

If you want to listen music in the same time you have direction from the navigation, you should select your radio station, or sdcard music. After that, you enter in the navigation by the PIP button. If you use the SRC button, you'll stop the music and only hear the NAV direction.

When the NAV101 want to give you an information, the music sound turn off, the direction is given and the music came back.

Be sure to put the NAV101 in English.
Be sure the P.VOL for the NAV is ON in the VM9022 menu (P.19 of VM user manual)
Be sure the cable between the NAV and the VM is correctly installed

First have you determined if you exceeded the Memory Capacity for the SD card? If so load SD into your computer Memory card Reader slot, It should pop up on the Screen. Look for Options to View, or Edit the SD card, you should be able to open the Memory stuff and delete some of the games. It sounds like you overloaded the Memory Card.

First make sure you have the correct kernel for the card. Go to the website where you purchased it and download the current firmware. Next copy all of that onto the micro sd card. Build folders in you sd card, very simple right click...new folder... enter... then label them correctly .. Label one movies... music... games.. etc... then put your files into the correct folders.. Another common error is that people use to high of a sd card.... some r4 cards only accept up to a 2gb micro card If you use one that is too big it will stick on the loading screen ... If none of this works reload all the software onto the card and start from scratch... hope this helps

The last official firmware for the original R4 was v1.18, the R4 SDHC needed different firmware as it's from a different manufacturer. You need the 1.34 software available from this download page if you have the real black box one: R4 Firmware

That should fix your problems.
