This is actually a common problem with this model, and its surprising that it really does look like a video board (BM board) problem. It is actually a problem with the panel itself.

This guy was kind enough to post it. I recently did the repair on a KDL-32M3000 and it worked like a charm. Took surprising long, but worked like a charm. I didn't have a 10 Ohm resistor laying around, so I used 2 x 4.7 Ohm resistors in series.

The last Sony LCD set I had with a problem a bit like this had a bad LCD drive board. This is the board at the top of the set--that connects between the LCD panel and the main board.

No this is what we call a "convergence" problem, it is due to burned out component(s) on the main pcb board. You either will need to get it repaired or replace it, replacing it will most likely be the best option.
