What should the value settings on a koler 20 hp twin engine be

does the engine idle when throttling down,if not you may have a worn governor or incorrect spring and or linkage settings.

If there's no spark, then either the spark plug has come into contact with gas, or the ignition coil is bad. Try either replacing the spark plugs, or removing the old ones and seeing if the tips are damp.

If replacing them doesn't work or the plugs are dry, then try replacing the ignition coil.

Nearly any single or twin cylinder engine with the same configuration (ie. vertical shaft) will fit under the hood of a craftsman that used to run 20 HP.

Yes or a tight valve. Also have had faulty afterfire solenoids cause this

no model # on my DLT3000. Replaced rear fender a few years ago where the model # used to be. I can't get the right parts w/o model #. It was by my dad sometime between '04 and '07. It's red w/42" cut, 20hp koler pro motor.

Hi and welcome to Fixya. The smoking can be stoped with a new set of rings and some hand lapping of the valves and seats with grinding compound. If your a fair mechanic it would be worth the effort. A new 20 HP v-twin will set you back a good bit of money. The parts can be ordered either on line or you can get them at a local lawn mower parts supply. Rings are about $35.00 per cyl and the the gaskets are relatively cheap. Valve grinding compound you can get at any automotive parts store. Buy a new set of valve stem seals also if you do fix it.

I have seen new LT120's listed in the $1999.00 - $2299.00 price range.

Your call as to fix it or... not purchase the unit. Depending on the asking price.... and the condition of the Lawn Tractor it might be worth the time and effort.
