Printer has yellow steak on it when I make a copy of something in color

I have a HP photosmart 2610 all-in-one. Whenever I make a copy of picture that is in color it will come out with a yellow streak on the side of paper. IT also happens when I scan a color photo. It doesnt happen when I make a black and white copy.

Same problem with photosmart 2610. A 2-inch wide yellow line shows up on a scan that is sent directly to the pc. It also shows up on a color copy that is made from the glass. It does not show up on a black and white copy. Problem started when I changed the black ink cartridge. The cartridges would not align after that but did after I replaced the color cartridge which was low. HP support was no help. First they had me clean the cartridges and the glass, then unplug the printer; then they said it was a hardware failure and want to sell me a new product. They seem to know the problem but won't recognize it even though it is obvious.

Exact same problelm - yellow line which is 2 inches wide shows up on picture scanned directly to PC and also on hard copy of color copy made from the glass. Not present on black and white copy. Problem started after black ink cartridge was changed; printer failed to align cartridges. I replaced the color cartridge which was low. Cartridges then passed alignment but yellow color is worse with new color cartridge. HP support is no help; they had me clean the cartridges and the glass, unplug and plug in the printer, print test page and page from notepad, when it is obvious that the problem is within the printer. Finally they admit that and want me to upgrade to a new one. I think they know the problem and its cause because when it is described it is very obvious that all the yellow color should not be there.

Tried changing color cartridge and black cartridge, problem still there.

How do I get inside to clean it? I made about 10 color copies of a plain white page - interesting that some had the vertical band and then the band was horizontal on a few pages then went back to vertical and not on some pages. I could actually see small horizontal striations on the long vertical band! Seems like the problem HAS to be inside somewhere!

Replace colour ink cartridge with new

So strange that I have not had a customer with this issue as it seems there are a few of you with this error, I only know the problem to be due to carts / scan glass dirty but you say that you have eliminated these possibilitys by replace colour cart with new, one of you tell me that it does it on scan to pc one of you tell me it don't, makes it a little confusing, because if it does show up when scanning directly to computer monitor then that tells me it is a optical issue, but if it is not there when doing so it points to a printing problem, Optical problem could simply be a case of dirty mirrors/ lens under glass also could be dirty white reference plate, does glass have a "fog" to it?

What color and black and white cartridges should I use for a HP Photosmart 1115 printer?

It looks like your Photosmart 1115 printer uses an HP45 black ink cartridge and an HP78 tri-color cartridge. Some HP printers will accept re-manufactured ink carts, while other HP printers will not...just so you know. I've always bought genuine HP ink cartridges on eBay to save $$$.

My HP Photosmart 2610 won't recognise compatible cartridges, help

You can try buffing the contacts gently but this happens quite often with generic cartriges sometimes they just don't work. Contact the vendor and explain the issue, I reckon you'll find that they're fairly used to this problem and will request a return for a refund.

My hp photosmart 2610 will not print in color

Try running a test page and see what happens. If only one or two colors print, for example you see magenta but no cyan or yellow, then the cartridge could be clogged. Try aligning the cartridges and/or cleaning them to see if that helps.

If not, the cartridge might be defective, damaged, or out of ink so try a different cartridge. It's possible that the ink dried up if the printer was left on for too long or not used for a long time, and sometimes there are just defective cartridges; this happened to me one time with a color HP cartridge for one of my printers.

Worst case scenario, if nothing is able to print or if the printer is making weird noises, it might be a problem with the headers or another internal component that would have to be fixed.

Hp 2610 will not print black even with new cartridge. HELP

Try cleaning the gold contacts on cart first, with distilled water. Let dry and try again.
If not, try this one
1.Try placing sheet of black text on copy board, and run many copies black only. I ran 25x12 times still no black. Run head clean after about each 50 sheets. Persevered and finally BLACK ink OK

HP Photosmart 2610

hmm..you may need to remove that premium plus option, through the system preferences folder. Then re install the drivers(get em here for updates) for the Inkjet printer. And be sure to only select the features you really want.

Yellow Hue when color copying

I understand your situation, however let me explain you that whenever you try to make a copy or print, yellow cartridge takes part and provides its color in all the aspects. Please do check that you use the HP ink cartridges and try to clean the cartridges for every 15 days as this may reduce the issues of colors.
