How do I turn off the cooling option on my Novamatic microwave?

My Novamatic microwave has continued to run after I have cooked something, saying that it is cooling. Is there a way I can turn this 'cooling' step off?

It should turn off when cooled. It must be cooled to work correctly or you can hurt your microwave.

The word COOL is displayed when the microwave goes into a cooling cycle. The cool cycle is a feature that ensures the operating components of the microwave (Inverter and Magnetron) are cooled after operation by running the fan inside the microwave.
The cooling function is activated whenever the microwave runs for over 3 minutes or is operated twice within a 10 minute period. The word COOL is displayed to tell you why the fan is still running. You do not have to wait for the cool cycle to complete before using the microwave again, simply enter the cooking operation you wish to perform and the cool cycle will stop and the microwave will perform the cooking operation you have just entered.

SOURCE: GH7145XFB-1 not heating properly

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:

- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose conneciton on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

SOURCE: microwave runs, but does not cook anything. says sensor error

The magnetron, which is the device which creates the microwaves might have got damaged. If so, it should be replaced. Magnetron is the costliest part in a Microwave oven, check the price before before servicing it.

I hope this will solve your issue.

Good Luck.

If my solution proves useful please accept it.

SOURCE: Microwave still continues after cooking time is ended

It is the fan. Im guessing it only happens on combination cook and not when you are only using the microwave setting. It happens because the oven is hot and it helps to cool it quicker. It is normal. The microwaves are not working and neither is the oven-just the fan.

In most modern combination microwave ovens, if not all, there is a fan that comes on after use to cool the magnetron and cavity down. This is quite normal but if you still have doubts, contact Kenwood's web site and send them a question.
Hope this halps to put your mind at rest.
