well first remove the huge battery first and run on AC power pack only?
if fails. make sure coin cell RTC battery is fresh.
on any PC if 2010 or older the backlamps CCFL are now dead.
use flash light on screen see data turned on, bingo for dead CCFl
your PC is at least 2008 made so CCFL are dead.

That is correct as long as the rest of the specs match it will just disable the error checking.

Start, click Run, and type regedit to open the Windows registry editor.
In the registry, open the below folders.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
Control Panel\
Keyboard\
Within the keyboard folder, you should have a string value named "InitialKeyboardIndicators" with a value of 0, 1, or 2. Below is the explanation of each of these values.
0 = Num Lock is turned OFF after the logon.
1 = Disable Num Lock.
2 = Numlock is turned ON after the logon.
