It just slowed down going up hill came to stop along side road engine still running give gas in gear would not go put in park rev up engine only go two 2.5 rpm tryed this 4to5 times then it went to 4000 rpm put in gear started moveing slow then started moveing faster drove it home had to stop behind anther car when takeing off would not go but slowly then got moveing again

there may be a mechanical problem in the trans mission with that mileage it may be that it needs overhauled try a transmission specialist not the dealer
You have internal transmission damage I expect the clutches on third and fourth gear are wiped out. Its either that or a solenoid gone bad that holds those clutches pressure get it in a transmission shop soon to avoid whole transmission replacement costs.
It sounds like differential lube. gear lube.A little bit go's a long way.check the seals pinon and axles.the cover on the differential look at the vent too.also gear lube on brakes it's not good.some times you have to pull tires off to see the oil.
shift linkage needs adjusting,,could be bent, easy fix, located along firewall to fram beneath the column, ask your son wut he ran over and didnt tell u about... hope i could help...:)
If your in gear (D) for example and you hit the gas, engine revs, but car doesn't speed up, it's a problem with your transmission, and the first thing you can do is have the fluid level checked, and add fluid if needed. If that's not the cure, take it to a transmission shop & have it diagnosed.
Try this. Go somplace where there are no cars, and no possibility of running into anything. Stop the car. Set the park brake. With the engine running, put the vehicle in 1st gear. Hold the foot brake pedal, and give it gas, and let out the clutch slowly.
If the engine does not stall real quick, the clutch disc is bad.
