Color problem with Samsung 40 in LCD HDTV

take a look in the picture line in menu.
open Samsung MagicAngle put it on off. My background became much clearer when I put it off

you can open the back cover of the tv using with a phillip screw driver. to check weather their are bulging electrolytic capacitors at the power supply board.

Please change the T-CON board, if it did not fix the problem, you may have a defective LCD Panel.

Main baord or even power supply are possible with main being most likely.

Most likely failed capacitors in the power supply. I am currently having the same problem with my 26 month old LN46A750. Samsung has agreed to fix this as an out of warranty "courtesy repair".

I have sound but my tv screen is black. Sometimes when I turn on the tv I get a picture but after 15 minutes or so the screen goes black again.
It's a 4 year old LCD.

I think I have a solution involving far less effort. Have you tuned your picture settings? Out of the box, the settings are ok and the presets will do the trick for most. But if you're like myself, you want the best picture possible. Here are my settings:

Hello, I have a question which video inputs are you using for your DVD and Wii connections? The reason I ask is because this sounds like video distortion cuased by noise. If possible can you send a picture of the screen when it has this problem and send which video ports are being used? If it is noise in the video you may have a saw filter problem, or a decoupling issue. In any event I'll know more once you send those pictures and which inputs you are using for your DVD and Wii. Amongst 3 audio and 3 video options on DVD, use only one for displaying picture on TV and one for getting sound.
Yellow Wire is for picture.
Red Wire is for sound.
White Wire is for sound.

Connect Yellow from TV to yellow at DVD
Red from TV to Red at DVD
White from TV to White at DVD

Take time to get used to the settings, you may think the screen looks dull at first. The truth is most people have way too much contrast on their TVs.
These settings will also work for Cable or Dish hookups, in which case you may change the Noise Reduction option to Medium to reduce signal noise.
