You have to make sure the case of the plug is making good connection against the metal on motor. Use file or sandpaper to get good connection on the plug and the motor.

SOURCE: starts but when throttled continues to die

You have carburetor problems. You will need to take the carb. off and disassemble. Clean the carb. with carb. cleaner and use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), for the small portals. Check the small screen in carb. to make sure it isn't clogged. The smallest of particals can cause the carb. problems. Check the gaskets as well. Depending on how old your trimmer is, you may have to buy a carb. kit and replace the Needle valve, appropriate gaskets, diaphragm, and small screen.

ther is no set setting but to get it to run so it can be adjusted. lightly close the high off then open the low about two turns. try to start if starts slowly adust the low screw till it runs normal with the choke all the way off. then start to add throttle while turning the high out till regiured rpms ar reached with no misses. this takes awhile even fo a seasoned mech and may require several attempts

Have spark dos'nt start ? homelite 26cc

Since you have spark then you need gas or air. I made some videos on giving my Homelite a tune up and carb rebuild. Got all the parts form Home Depot and the carb rebuild kit from Amazon. Didn't cost much for all that.

Starts but then floods and drips fuel out of carb

Sounds like you are getting too much fuel to the engine. The possible reasons are located inside of the carburetor.
1. the fuel needle valve is stuck open 2. the metering diaphragm is touching the fulcrum arm (attached to the needle) too soon {may need adjustment} 3. the check valves in the carburetor are stuck open and need to be cleaned.
I recommend contacting a dealer like www.arcolawn.com and having them price a whole carburetor. Sometimes they are cheaper than the rebuild parts. Good luck

Trimmers: Homelite Easy Reach-25cc-Model # UT20044B& Homelite Mighty Lite- 26cc- Model # UT21546 Both trimmers will start but when throttling up they cut out. They will also cut out when the choke is...

sounds like an air/ fuel mixture/ratio problem.there should be two screws side by side near the carb. crank trimmer and slowly adjust screws, in or out, till engine runs smoothly..

I have a homelite weedeater i need the carb screw settings to adjust the carb

A good starting point is from a lightly seated position, back the Hi and Lo needles out about 1.5 turns each. From that point you can fine tune the machine.

I have a homelite model uto8550 26cc mighty blower/vac. On initial startup it runs at half choke then stalls when i turn it to run. Any suggestions?

1. check fuel filter in gas tank (for clogged condition).
2. Check carb jet for dirt (squirt carb cleaner in jet and fuel inlet

Summary: your carb is not getting enough fuel to mix properly with constant air flow. Therefore, fuel supply needs to be cleaned... then you will run happy!!

(mightylite 26cc curved shaft] gas not going into primer bulb was working great, when you push down bulb you can see it bubble in tank emptied tank it is clean no tear in bulb no holes in lines they appear...

Check the length of you fuel lines, make sure theyre long enough, check filter inside tank to make sure its clean,if all that checks out you probably need to rebuild the carb. Get the proper rebuild kit you need for the carb and replace the gaskets and diaphrams needle and seat valve ect. I use chemtool carb cleaner, works great. Before rebuild take carb apart needle and seat valve out spray cleaner thoughroly through all holes and blow out with air gun, then install new kit. This should set you back no more than $5.00

Starts but when throttled continues to die

You have a dirty carburetor or a carburetor in need of new parts. Disassemble carburetor. Clean with carb. cleaner and use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), for the small portals. Check the small screen in carb., making sure that it's free of debris. Reassemble and see if it works properly. If it doesn't, then you will need to buy a carb. kit and replace the small screen, needle valve, appropriate gaskets, and diaphragm. This should do it.
