Do you mean the Electrolux/Aerus Lux 5500 canister vacuum? Is so, then the upside down U with a ? indicates check bag. Often it indicates no bag is in place. The filled in upside-down U below that means that the bag is full. Change your filter bag then reset the on/off switch. (Turn the unit off while you change the bag and then turn it on again once the bag is properly in place.)

I'm sorry but this is a model that is not available here in the United States. I have never seen this model before in my life, and have no clue what could be wrong on this model. I did however find the instruction manual for your model.
